Fab Freebie: Under The Sea
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
And the randomly selected person who’s starting their new year off with prize is… Jennifer (who answered this week’s question with a Canadian folk lyric – which I had to look up, mind you: “Lukey’s boat is painted green, Ha, me boys!”). Congrats Jennifer!
Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between. One of you is gonna win up to $300 worth of bathymetric chart-y goodnesst this week. So… ahoy!

- PRIZE: Any single framed map up to $300 (or any combination of two maps that add up to $300) from Below The Boat.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BOAT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …if you had to venture out on a boat, what kind would it be? Would you opt for a luxury cruise? Venture out on a sailboat? Are you more into kayaks or canoes? Maybe you’d like living on a house boat? Or perhaps any kind of boat is your ultimate nightmare?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 2nd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

Sweet baby Jesus, Boat me! A contest thats open world wide! Huzzah!! I love boats, I live in Nova Scotia so I have been on many a boat. I love going out lobster fishing with my dad! I love kayaking too! But I rarely get to go out on a sailboat, so I think that would be a neat change :)
Boat me!
The jet boat across the bay to Mackinaw Island, MI is my all time favorite boat ride. Have a great day!
BOAT ME!
I think my Grandpas old fishing boat. Being on that boat with him is one of my favorite memories.
BOAT ME!
A cruise to Iceland and Greenland is our dream
BOAT ME!
I’d love to own a huge yacht and spend some time on the Mediterranean!
BOAT ME! Would love a luxury cruise in Europe.. maybe someday!
Boat me please!
House boat with the family. Though my husband would probably say a sailboat that he would sail himself, I’m just not into that much adventure :)
BOAT ME!
Boat me! I would love to do a private sailboat where they navigate and raise the sails for you and teach you how to do it. But no pressure to do it myself!
BOAT ME!! I love canoes, but a good sail on the Puget Sound or a ride on the ferries is great for me! I love the sea! I recognize the pic of San Juan Island! Been there a few times! Happy New Year!
BOAT ME!!!! I would love to take a cruise around the Caribean on a yacht!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
Boat me! I’ll take a luxury yacht, please.
BOAT ME! Just about any boat is fine by me… as long as it stays afloat! Happy New Year!
BOAT ME! a cruiseship, thanks :)
BOAT ME! I dream of kayaking.
Boat me! Sailboat, an old-school wooden one.
BOAT ME!
I’ve always wanted to spend some time on a house boat. I’ll got with that. :-)
BOAT ME!!!…..We used to own a nice little fishing boat and took it out of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The sun and wind and water were so therapeutic.
BOAT ME! On a sailboat!
BOAT ME!
Id be on luxury cruise with my hubby – it would be perfect!!
BOAT ME! Luxury cruise for sure.
BOAT ME! I’d live in a house boat, all the way.
BOAT ME! I once went on an amazing cruise around the Greek islands- beautiful! But it’s more likely my husband and I will be canoeing or kayaking. We live on the Erie Canal which is great for a leisurely day out. Much more leisurely than when we go in SC- my husband came very close to getting attacked by an alligator once! There was lurching and snapping and fear. Yet, every year when we’re there, we still go out. I guess we’re optimistic!
Boat me! I’ve never been on a sailboat but they seem really cool! These maps look amazing, I’m off to check out their website…
BOAT ME! I private yacht just about anywhere would be alright with me!
BOAT ME!
I love a good ferry. We live in Seattle & the Puget Sound one is AMAZING!
BOAT ME! i wouldn’t mind a luxury sailing cruise.
BOAT ME! Totally a cruise!
BOAT ME!
My boat preference is a kayak!
BOAT ME!
I’d be happy to have a vacation on my father-in-law’s sailboat. In fact, if I win, that’s probably who the print will go to!
BOAT ME! My husband has been claiming for years that he’d teach me how to sail, so I’ll have to go with a sailboat
BOAT ME! You will never find me on a sailboat. They always look like they’re about to tip over and capsize! On a side note, we just saw these charts in Annapolis last weekend and fell in love with them. My mom is still trying to talk my dad into spending the $300 on one (but maybe I’ll win and can give it to her!) :)
Boat me!
I’d go out on a sail boat… I’ve never learned to sail but always wanted to!
BOAT ME!!! An old wooden Chris-Craft… heaven.
BOAT ME!
A paddle boat. We’re right next to DC and I’ve always wanted to go out on to the Potomac in one of those rented paddle boats. Maybe 2013 will be the year. We’ll see.
I’m think Cherry Blossom season.
Boat me! I would love to go back to the largest charity hospital ship Mercy Ship in West Africa. Spent a few months there this past spring and loved it!
Boat me! We love going out on our little fishing boat. Can’t wait for spring!
BOAT ME!!! I love kayaking and canoeing, but I’ve been dying to go on an Alaskan cruise forever now!
BOAT ME
I’ve been on two cruises and would love to do more. Perhaps a Mediterranean Cruise or one to Hawaii or the South Pacific.
BOAT ME!!
A kayak, all the way :)
BOAT ME – cruise all the way
BOAT ME! A house boat would be fun! But if I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be on one of those Huuuuuuge yachts! :)
BOAT ME!
I would love to try sailing on the open sea someday. Preferably someplace warmish on calm seas.
BOAT ME!!! A luxury cruise sounds lovely, but I do love me some beach…so I would vouch for a luxury beach bound vacation WITH a day on a yacht.
BOAT ME! Either a cruise or a canoe- depends how long I’m going for. :-P
Boat Me! I’d take a cruise ship any day of the year!
BOAT ME! I’ve been on all kinds of boats (with varying degrees of success…), but I would really love to do a transatlantic cruise on the Queen Mary 2. Cheaper than flying and just so…glamorous…
BOAT ME!
Yachts/Cruise ships all the way.
Boat me!
I’d opt for a fishing boat and then sing “I’m on a boat and it’s going fast and I’ve got a nautical theme pass me the afghan!” while on it :)
BOAT ME! I’d be on a sailboat down in the Keys but I’d want the hubs and I to learn how to do it ourselves – preferably not during hurricane season.
