Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

Holiday lights make me smile, especially the light shining on my moms home made Santa and Rudolf statues made over 25 years ago. Love a fire going…but I don’t have one in my new house (yet!). BOO.
I love simple white lights on our Christmas tree and on our bushes outside but I looove checking out the over-the-top, colorful, blinking crazy houses out in the neighborhood!

I looooove my Christmas tree! I do understated light – just clear and a soft gold/yellow. They look great together and make the whole room feel so warm and cozy. Just hosted a huge soiree this weekend and got so many compliments on the tree! :)

I’m a big fan of those larger colored Christmas lights that used to be the norm in the 80s. Their soft, warm glow (as opposed to the sharper, glittery look of modern lights) makes me feel all Crissmussy. =)
