Love the gray/black/white items…such a great color scheme. Random question–I’m on the no/low VOC bandwagon with you guys–does no/low VOC spray praint and/or primer exist? I’m refinishing a side table that has knobby/ornate legs, and I don’t think painting with a brush/roller will look smooth in the end. Thanks!
Spray paint or spray primer has yet to go no/low VOC, so we like to use it outside and let it offgas a while out there (at least until it’s fully cured according to the can and sometimes twice as long). You can also brush on something like Safecoat Acrylacq, which is a no-VOC sealer that can help limit any offgassing when you bring things inside. Hope it helps!

I love Friday the 13th. Found out I was pregnant with my first child on Friday the 13th, and then heard his heartbeat on a Friday the 13th as well! Its always been a good day for me :)

These links are GREAT!!! I wanted to tell you I just installed an 8 x 10 FLOR area rug in my living room and we LOVE it!! I was not sure with two kids and two dogs how I would like it but so far so good! Though I have to tell you after seeing how nice that super large rug looks in your den I decided to order 9 more tiles to make my rug larger! ALL.YOUR.FAULT! :) This is the one we went with:

Burger is so cute sleeping like that. We have a min pin that sleeps the same way. I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to find her sharing my pillow! It just makes me smile.
I want that paper plane wallpaper. NOW.
Also, I think that might be one of my favorite FLOR styles I’ve seen! Some of their stuff is… meh.

I love the Burger photo! I’m pretty sure that he would get along well with my dog (a mini doxie), they both seem to enjoy sleeping and snuggling above all else!

Burger cracks me up… We have a 10mos old miniature pinscher and he sleeps under the covers too. Last night I went to bed and his little bottom was sticking out of the covers…(never thought a dogs butt would be so cute)!
Nooo! Black cats are good luck (we have 2 of the most sweetest most wonderful little kitties on this planet)! And did you know that the US is one of the only countries that considers black cats “bad luck”?! In other countries they are actually considered good luck! It’s because so many people in the US think negative things about black cats (and dogs) that they both have the lowest adoption rates at shelters across the US (ours are from a shelter too). So I think black cats are the best little things that happened to our family ever! So black cats = good luck! :-)
Oh yes we love black cats too! John’s parents and sister have one! Adopt black cats too everyone!

Love Burger – what a human! I miss having a dog so much but alas one of the kids I babysit is allergic :( Also, am I a total geek because I really dig that retro calculator iphone cover?! I still have my scientific calculator from high school – loved it (yeah, total math and computer geek here).
Also, I’ve always loved the number 13 – it’s my birthdate and my brother’s AND my lovely daughter’s birthdate! Also, the year I was turning 30 – and my bday was a Friday the 13th that year – my hubby and I got engaged (he asked me at my surprise bday party). Friday the 13ths have always been lucky for me and my hubby likes it as a jersey number. We’re totally into 13 over here! Happy Friday the 13th!
