Fab Freebie: Meet George Jetson
*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***
Random.org considered all of your over 7,300 entries and dubbed our one lucky winner as… Cristy (who like many of you, is in awe of her iPhone). Congrats!
There are a lot of technologies these days that make me feel like we’re living in the age of The Jetsons. But one that I can barely wrap my head around is that average everyday people (like you) can own a robot that cleans your floors. Did I say own? I meant win. Because this week we’re giving away the iRobot Roomba 560, which does the dirty work at the touch of a button. And if that isn’t sci-fi enough for you, it automatically adjusts between carpet and floors, avoids drop offs, slows down before nudging close to objects and returns to its charging station on its own. Consider your floors officially cleaned and your mind officially boggled (and maybe your cat officially weirded out).
- PRIZE: An iRobot Roomba 560 vacuum cleaning robot (a $350 value)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “ROOMBA ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us what technology or gadget seems extra high tech to you these days. Are you amazed that we can video chat from our cell phones now? Or that they make cars that can parallel park themselves? Or are you still stuck on the fact that this Roomba knows where its charging station is? I am.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 29th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: All fifty United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from iRobot.

ROOMBA ME! We’re about to move to a house in which EVERYTHING is carpeted–including the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the GARAGE. Until we can afford to redo flooring, I have a LOT of vacuuming in my future.

I’m still awed by iPads and Kindles…
ROOMBA ME!
This is the gadget that seems most high tech to me. My fabulous husband got my very pregnant self one of this these past Christmas so I would have one less chore to worry about one the baby was born. :) The funny this is, I named mine George like George Jetson, too!! I love mine so much that I’d love to win this one so I can share with my sister.
ROOMBA ME!! The cars that can parallel park themselves really amaze me and kind of freak me out a bit. I don’t know if I could let go of control and trust that the car would do it right and not hit anything. I am a bit of a control freak though.
ROOMBA ME! Ooooh this would be SO handy for the dog hair. I’m pretty sure those parallel parking cars still freak me out, even if they are brilliant.

ROOMBA ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROOMBA ME!!!
I think that cell phone prices are waaay too high given the fact that everyone now has them, or at least most people. I can understand why prices were so high in the past, but with increased user-ship (is that a word?) I would think (and hope and pray) that the prices for those plans would come down.
ROOMBA ME!
I love these fancy vacuum cleaners, and even the nifty new mowing robots!
ROOMBA me! Cars can actually parallel park themselves now???
Roomba me! I am amazed that my iPhone pulls Google traffic and will update your drive time based on how much traffic there is. It’s a lifesaver when I need to get somewhere quick!
ROOMBA ME!
I was just talking about the Roomba with my almost-4-year-old who is obsessed with robots. He was amazed that there is a robot to clean your floors, but not as amazed as I am. :)
I think just the general concept of all the information that’s flying through the AIR is pretty nuts. Cell phones, internet, you name it! Crazy.
ROOMBA Me!
ROOMBA ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROOMBA ME!! Cameras impress me…my 1 year old already knows to look at the back of the camera to see the picture. So much for waiting to get your film developed! :)
ROOMBA ME!
I think being able to talk on a cellphone over the car speakers is pretty awesome, it is one thing I don’t want to live without.
ROOMBA ME!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
