Fab Freebie: Initial Impressions
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – get a discount and see who won below!***
Everyone can score 10% off a purchase from Initial Presents with code YHL10 through March. And our two random winners of $75 gift credits are…Angela (who’s ARS initials sound like a pirate talking ’bout its booty) and Cecilia (who’s CRS initials are pretty run of the mill).
You probably know by now that we’ve pretty much never met a monogram that we didn’t like (I know that’s a weird thing for a dude to say, but I like letters and typefaces, sue me). So if you dig that particular brand of classic personalization as much as we do, then you’ll have no trouble burning through the $75 you could win from Initial Presents this week. They’re all about letting you customize their products – from cutting boards and wine glasses to clothing and jewelry. And two of you are gonna win the chance to put your mark on some of ‘em.
- PRIZE: A $75 gift credit to Initial Presents
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MY INITIALS ARE [insert your initials]!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us what you love (or loathe) about your initials. Do they spell something cool (or maybe something embarrassing)? Do they make for a great nickname (kids in high school used to call me JP, for instance)? Are you kinda indifferent about them? Or do you wish you could change them to something more interesting?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 16th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…

MY INITIALS ARE AET. Backwards they spell tea!
MY INITIALS ARE JDL. I’ve never spent much time thinking about them, but the “D” always gives me trouble when I have to sign my initials in cursive. It just doesn’t look right with the others.
MY INTIALS ARE JLB. No fancy words or nicknames from my initials.
My initials are JCG and in a couple months I’ll get married and change them to JGC. I think I’ll have some trouble thinking I’m dislexic for awhile!
My initials are ML – just like the infamous Mona Lisa…
My initials are ABM… and I love them because they are brand-new (because of my recent wedding)!
My initials are JV! Junior Varsity, baby!
MY INITIALS ARE “ARD” !
I love my name “Amber Renee’”… so I love my intials!
ARD is the abbrevation of a German tv channel! It stands for “Allgemeines Deutsches Fernsehen” or “Nationwide German TV” .. :)
MY INITIALS ARE WS
It makes looking through the Williams Sonoma catalog more interesting, especially when they’re feature monogrammed items!
My initials are VMW…I like them because I always thought of BMW (fancy!). However, they are boring; nothing changed after I got married. Guess I just like being called last!
Our monogram is LHD, and I also love personalized items and monogrammed gifts! Even just doing “H” is fun in different fonts and styles – plus it’s pretty easy to find in stores on ornaments, winestoppers, etc.
MY INITIALS ARE REA. Since I just got married I’m still getting used to them but so far love them!
MY INITIALS ARE JLF. They used to be JLN, and I’m pretty indifferent to either option–no weird words spelled, but also nothing too exciting about them. :)
My Initials are…NC. There is nothing special about them other then the abbrivation for North Carolina. I still love them none the less because it’s who i am :)
MY INITIALS ARE…. AJW. I’m indifferent about my initials… nothing special at all! I don’t LOVE my last initial (b/c the name is hard for others to grasp i guess!)… so i waited to change it for 2 years after being married! Oh well… it made for a pretty cool set of initials for my son… LAW!
My initials are KJB, and I love them. I also love that my hubby’s are very similar RJB.
MY INITIALS ARE KLL. Not very interesting since I got married and now have to L’s in a row.
My initials are: CAW. I know it looks like something a crow squaks but I’m like the most visual person in the world and those initials in a script font: breathtaking!
My initials are ANR. My sister and I have the exact same initials, and it drove me crazy my whole life because we could never write our initials on something, we always had to write our whole name!
i honestly do love my initials. they are es.
i have no middle name because my parents thought/hoped and still hope that i’ll get married some day and my last name will be my middle name. lovely idea. i know. :)
although, since i have been in a calligraphy class, i have realized that i don’t enjoy writing E’s. sad sad day.
MY INITIALS ARE RGE. Nothing special, just regular, I’m okay with them.
MY INITIALS ARE LKS. I love my initials because they are really pretty and scroll-y when they are monogrammed on things!
MY INITIALS ARE… PP for Pascaline Paré. Yup I’m French (french Canadian). What I love about my initials? Well, they are pretty clean and simple :)
In July I’m getting married and then my initials will be: PS for Pascaline Stevens…haha I LOVE PS!
Post Scriptum! I think It’s cool.
PS: My fiances name is Tyson. Just put his first initial and mine together…hahaha ;) We named our fish TP
MY INITIALS ARE!
My husband and I have a double last name so ordering monogrammed items can be a bit of a pain. I always have to make a call to the customer service line to see that they can accomodate. I’m thankful to have found a few vendors that work for us!
MY INTIALS ARE BB.
My intials used to be BW so I love that I went from the end of the alphabet to the beginning!
My initials are: NDC!
And guess where I live? In DC! Boo ya!
M INITIALS ARE AMM. If I used my maiden name and my married name, they would spell A MOM!
MY INITIALS ARE CSRH, I love monogramming! In grade school, kids used to tease me and say that I didn’t know my own name because I had everything monogrammed:)
My initials are ME. It’s not really as cool as it may seem. My daughter has a very long name, but her initials spell DREW, which she could always use as a nickname.
MY INITIALS ARE………….JAS. I think about it everytime I see your J & S mugs or that framed J & S.
And my brother’s initials are MRS. I tease him all the time and call him misses.
My initials are: AJC….just got married so it is going to take me a while to get use to them:)
I don’t mind my initials- CLM. It used to be CLT before I was married, which I thought sounded too much like BLT. Nice giveaway! Happy Monday!
CLT reminds me of the abbreviation for Charlotte (the city). So I like CLT a lot! (just thought I’d share that more positive spin on almost-BLT. Of course, I love BLTs, so I don’t know that it needs a more positive spin)
My first initial is H, and a couple very special people just call me that sometimes!
MY INITIALS ARE KMF. I’m still adjusting and missing a bit my maiden initials KMB, but I’m not sure why I’m so attached, maybe it’s the move down the alphabet.
my initials are WTL. and i love them because they are me :)
My initials are TLG. Love them because they didn’t change when I got married. Gave up the last name but not the initial!
ENM are my initals! They aren’t anything cool. But my name is EMily and my first and last initials are EM so it kind of works out when people call me EM.
My initials are LEC. Too close to yeck, yuck, blek – so I generally use LC.
My initials are AHS. And to this day I am always taken back when I see people wearing tshirts that say AHS – but there are so many high schools with my initials!
My initials are CS and I like them because they are easy to write really fast when I have to initial papers at work.
MY INITIALS ARE BK.
It’s no fun being called Bubba King. Now we can laugh about it. It’s better than Pho King, I guess. :\
My initials are RAD. I thought that was pretty awesome when I was a kid in the 80s! My nickname is Becky, which changes my initials to BAD, if you look at it that way. Not nearly as cool.
My initials are SJM. Before I got married they were SJS and I like those better…they roll off the tongue better! :)
My initials are JAM….they were JAB before I got married. I always thought that was a little gruesome. Jam is much more playful and descriptive of the sessions my hubby, baby and I have in the evenings with our guitars.
My initials are AMG! I’m sorta tickled by them since I recently got married and changed my last name. So it feels all fresh and new. Oh, and I love monogram stuff! Very cool giveaway.
My initials are..KAG. Nothing too exciting, but I like them because they are mine!
My initials are JAN! I heart my initials so much that I wouldn’t take my husbands last name (I would have become JAR).
My initials are MVW. Nothing special, but I love them anyway!
My initials are JLL. I always kind of liked that they ended in two L’s…
My initials are HLJ. I’ve always loved the H because it is so pretty when you write it in calligraphy!
MY INITIALS ARE RRF. Like a barking dog. “Rrrrrrf! Rrrf! Rrrrrf!” Oh, joy.
Waaaay back before I was married, I vowed not to date anyone with the last initial R. I did not want to be “RRR” (Ar! Ar! Ar! Like a laughing pirate?). Funny. RRF never occured to me at all!
