Yes Please
This bathroom from Lonny…

… is now officially the inspiration for our hall bathroom.

You might not see it now, but the white tile on the walls of our bathroom is actually pretty visually similar to the beadboard in the Lonny bathroom above (although ours has a black border, so we’ll have to see how that goes). The crazy thing is that we posted this description about The Napkin (aka Sue Sylvester) and mentioned how the swatch on the bottom (Benjamin Moore’s Teal Ocean) might be something that we use in our hall bath. Then we saw the Lonny bathroom above and were totally.frickin.convinced. Bring it on.
The walls in the inspiration image are Calypso Blue by Benjamin Moore, but we’re still leaning towards our original choice of Benjamin Moore’s Teal Ocean (seen here in the bottom swatch on Sue The Napkin), which seems to read better in our room. When we tape it up on the wall in there it looks rich and dimensional, just like the wall in the bathroom above. For some reason Calypso Blue was almost reading navy in our space, which is why we definitely still subscribe to the “hold it up and see how it looks in your lighting situation” method (as opposed to the “see a room you like and blindly paint your room that color” approach).

Pics to come just as soon as we can tackle it. Until then we’ll be staring at this photo and drooling. Napkin please.

Love that corner sink. A nice space saver and alternative to the more common storage units. And the glass light fixture is gorgeous!
oh my gosh….I can totally see it! It is going to be fabulous!
Looking forward to seeing your teal bathroom when you get to it!
I absolutely love this and it is now my inspiration as well. I do have have the lower half of my wall with paneling in the bathrooms and now this has made me love it and appreciate it so much. Oh how i love that bathroom!
I love it! That issue of Lonny made me want to incorporate teal/turquoise into every room in my place.
Awesome color- and a nice jump out of the usual yhl comfort zone! I’m loving your adventures :) We recently painted our office SW Underseas which seems similar to Teal Ocean- but doesn’t read as blue as these pics- much more green in our space. Can’t wait to see your progress!
Love that bathroom!! I’ve been wanting to redo our master bath for quite some time. The pervious owners sponge painted the walls with left over paint from the other rooms (battleship gray, 2 shades of peach and a little seafoam green/blue)and then put up a border…that has adobe huts one it. Suprisingly it goes together but its NOT our taste. This pic make me want to start renovating soon! Love the color with the white.
I loved that bathroom but hopefully you’ll still keep a mirror above the sink :) Not sure I could ever get used to that look! I love the color – will be fantastic!
HAHAHAH- I named my post yesterday the same thing!!
I love all shades of turquoise so I co-sign on this YES PLEASE too!
Love it

Excited to have been the one to call that exact inspiration room when I saw the color choice in the original post. I seriously can NOT wait to see this space finished! Well, the whole house really, but I will be patient…
I think the black border tile will be just fine, especially if you’re considering using a similar window treatment.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
and again, I LOVE that you are going bold with color in the new house!
Yes! You’re the one to send that link our way and take us from “maybe the bathroom will go teal” to “yes yes yes! we’re sold!” Thanks again for sharing the inspiration!

I say you go for it and keep with the black border too. I have a half wall (with built ins) in my living room. I painted the wall turquoise and the built ins and top black. I love it!

Love this! And I don’t think that the black tile border will be a problem at all. I think it’s gonna pop and look awesome! Can’t wait to see it finished!!
I love Lonny. And teal!
The Bold and the Beautiful, your bathroom will be.
Apparantly I’m channeling Yoda today…
Hahah, love it!

Oooh, great! I actually saved that Lonny pic in my own “inspiration pics” folder. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I am loving that teal! And the napkin (we have the same set)!
Fabulous color. Jealous in a good way. I’m renting and I drive myself crazy on a daily basis, living vicarious through those who can be bold and paint, paint, paint.
I love the bright colors! I feel like bathrooms are so often pastel – this is fun!
I hope this means you vanity is getting a new carrara marble top. Yummy!!
If we had all the money in the world… yes. But for now we’ll be working with what we have! Haha.

Duuuuude! I LOVED this bathroom. It immediately went into my inspiration folder. Cant wait to see how yours turns out!
Maybe it’s my monitor. Maybe it’s my bright aqua/teal craft room. But – that bottom swatch looks really bright blue/teal to me, and I’ll admit, I’m apprehensive….
I trust in the Powers of YHL, though, so I can honestly say that I’m SUPER curious to see the outcome of this one! I’m having a tough time picturing it!
Love that little sink & the colors! Wish little corner sinks were more available and popular! I also really like the little ledge the bead board makes – cute for decorating and such! It adds dimension.
Ohh, that will be so pretty. You definitely have enough white to balance the bold blue. Can’t wait to see what it looks like!
That will look amazing! That is a great inspiration picture. I can’t wait to see your latest changes!
I am loving the corner sink too. Beautiful shade of teal. Kind of like a Mallard ducky!
I love those color combinations. I think it will look great!
I love the dark color of the walls with the white bottom and the corner sink. It’s great way to utilize the small space in the bathroom.
I’m really excited about that color – and that Lonny bathroom is to die for. Beadboard AND crown molding? Take me away!
HA! Love the “napkin please” at the end! I also love that you guys are finding so much house inspiration from one napkin! That is so cool. You’re going to need to frame it, I think – give it the special place of honor it deserves in your house. :-)
You’re so right about hanging those paint swatches. I’m trying to decide how to paint my bedroom right now and had a whole bunch of green swatches up on the wall. While they all looked nice during the day, at night some of them looked very black – definitely not what I’m going for!
What are you planning to do with the black tile border?
We’re going to try to work with it and see how it goes. It’s graphic and classic, so with a window treatment like the one in the inspiration room it should hopefully look ok. Time will tell!

LOVE the inspiration! The color is amazing!
Oh, wait — you already have Sue The Napkin to wipe up the drool. :-)
What a fun and relatively easy update — can’t wait to see it!
Love the bold punch of color. It also looks like the ceiling is painted a soft blue in the Lonny picture. You guys going to go for a painted ceiling, too, or is that a wait and see project for after the wall color goes up? Either way, Mr. Napkin is so fun and I love that you guy are really breaking away from using the same colors from your last house. Moving is so great!
Yup, we’ll take the wait and see approach. They have crown molding and our bathroom doesn’t so we’ll have to see how we feel about the ceiling after we tackle the walls!

Love it! So when are you starting?
Just as soon as I tackle those dreaded living room beams. I know the bathroom will feel like cake after those, so I have to build up the courage to tackle those beams and then the bathroom is next on the agenda for sure!

If you’re still into suggestions, I’ve used (and likewise recommend) a shade of teal called “La Fonda Turquoise” (always makes me think of that character from Napoleon Dynamite). It stays pretty true no matter what lighting you’ve got going on.
Love the colors and can’t wait to see the results!!! susan
Forgot to wish you Happy Ground Hog Day. It will be an early spring according to the furry rodent!
Wahoooo! So glad! Bring on the warmer weather!

Ditto the “Yes Please” and add a “May I have another”….beyond excited to see all the saturated color tones in your new place!! A good balance between the light and airy to the deep punches of color. So exciting.
I love bold colors in bathrooms! Great choice on color, this will look great. Will you also bring in stripes for your window treatment or go a different route?
We’re obsessed with the window treatment as well, so something similar is definitely what we’re leaning towards!

WOW! I L.O.V.E. the bold colors and the look of your inspiration bathroom! Can’t wait to see updates.
I actually used your bathroom from your first house as the inspiration for my bathroom! And it turned out fabulous. I live in a 1930′s bungalo and the bathroom had basically the same layout as your first house. It turned out perfect!
WOW. Love that stunning teal color! I’m partial to this color myself and have used something similar on our main living room wall. I posted a pic in my blog last week.
I find that teal goes very well with those colors you picked but for something more dramatic, high gloss black works well for trim and orange works well for accents…like in a vase of flowers, towels, curtains, etc.
I’m in love with this color! So bold and fun yet not overpoweringly dark. Can’t wait to see how it comes together.
I wouldn’t have thought to go that dark, but the inspiration bathroom is totally cool. Vision, vision, I need vision. I’ve got two rooms at home now that need a lot of help.
oh, yes. that is going to look spectacular!
All I can say is I can’t wait to see the completed project! I love the colors.
I wouldn’t have thought to go that dark in the bathroom, but the inspiration bathroom is totally cool. Vision, vision, I need vision. I have two rooms in my home that need a lot of help.
I painted the guest bath at my old condo Calypso Blue!!!! It looked JUST like the Lonny bathroom above- funky art and unexpected accents! And we just did it blindly without thinking about it too much! I feel so cool now haha.
Oh my, that entire house might be my inspiration. LOVE the kitchen table and chairs and bright and colorful shades in the playroom and guest room!
I really love the window treatment!
But hey, art instead of the mirror over the vanity is a little bit weird or is it me?
I think that the black tile will go great with that color scheme, Lony has black accents it will look great can’t wait to see the finished product!
Love it!!!!! Very nice :)
BEAUTIFUL! We will be renovating our current guest bedroom and a hall bathroom into the master suite so this picture is giving me some great ideas too. Particularly, I LOVE the wainscotting (spelling?)! What a great idea. Our entire downstairs has it so that would be a neat way to tie it all in.
I was looking through the rest of the magazine and did you see the article on page 42 about the Martha Stewart cabinet collection at Home Depot? Looks like they’re going to be stiff competition for Ikea. And we don’t have to drive 2 hours away to NoVA!
Yes! It certainly sounds interesting! Can’t wait to check things out…
