Fab Freebie: This Land Is Your Land
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***
You know I love a good map and/or geography-related decor item, which is why I’m stoked about this week’s prize from Whispering Pines. Though their specialty is rustic decor for your cabin, we honed in on these two finishing touches that can add color, kitsch, and educational tidbits to any space.
This week’s winner will score any state or city pillow (which we’ve coveted ever since spotting them during Matt & Kristin’s house crashing):
And this retro 1950′s “Vacationland” tablecloth:
Charming? Check. Cheerful? Check. Cheeky? Check. Ok, enough words that start with c. Here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: The “Vacationland” tablecloth and your choice of any state or city pillow from Whispering Pines
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MY LAND IS [BLANK]” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … fill in that blank with whatever city, state, region, or country you consider to be your “homeland” and what you love most about it.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 26th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

My land is Alabama. Although a native Floridian for the first 27 years, I have fallen in love with the seasons, and all that Rocket City has to offer.
“MY LAND IS Michigan” …..the winter wonderland!
My land is SOUTH CAROLINA! I love it’s upstate and low country!
My land is … the Canadian Prairies!
Where it takes a certain kind of person to live here in the first place (because really, what kind of crazy person will live somewhere that hits extremes of +40C and -50C?), but when you see it you know why we put up with it. Rolling prairies, bright sunsets that cover the skyline, and the City of Bridges … it’s like living in a watercolour.
My land is KANSAS….Family and wide open spaces!
MY LAND IS … RHODE ISLAND!
I love the unique food. Clam cakes, clear chowder, Del’s lemonade …
My land is in the negatives! BRRR!
My land is…home state is ILLINOIS but I currently live in Maryland. Either one would be an awesome treat! Great giveaway. :)

MY LAND IS…. Texas, California and Massachusetts!
I’ve lived in all three and love all three states!
~ Ali
My land is made of lakes…as in, Lakeland, Florida. Ok, so its not my hometown (I’m from Rochester, NY), but I spent 5 years there (college and 1 year post-grad) and it is also where I met the love of my life who I get to marry this August! I consider it home to me after all this time because my soon-to-be in-laws are still there, along with some of the best friends who turned into family. We’d spend weekends travelling all over the state, and Florida will always be near and dear to my heart (and my fiancee’s, too!) Love your blog!
MY LAND IS MARYLAND!!
I have since moved to Texas for graduate school but I miss Baltimore, DC, the crabs, four seasons…the list goes on and on.
My land is Indiana!
This Land is Yorktown, VA!
My husband and I love it here. I was raised here and we have great schools and a great community not to mention the great history… check out the last 10 mins of the movie The Patriot if you didn’t pay attention in History class :)
My land is Delaware. Tax free shopping!
My land is Columbia, Missouri! And I love that it is a perfect mix of urban and rural – lots to do!
MY LAND IS New Hampshire. New Hampshire is a great location close to skiing, close to Boston, close, enough, to New York City, close to the ocean. Four seasons, even if it did get to -20 last night. :-(
My land is PENNSYLVANIA (’cause that’s where I spent my childhood and my parents still live there) and MASSACHUSETTS (’cause that’s where my own little family is growing up now). How I love this giveaway! Many thanks, Mary
My land is Illinois! Go Bears!! (Even though they lost yesterday…)
My land is IOWA! I had a great small town childhood there.
My land is Virginia! I love the variety that Virginia has to offer (large cities, small towns, mountains, and beaches).
My land is MICHIGAN!
I love the mitten state for its four seasons, lakes, and my family!
My land is Illinois

My land is Kansas!!
My Land is Wyoming. It is high, wide, and lonesome. It gets in your blood and I love it.
My land is RICHMOND, VA – even though I don’t live there now and I’m not from there, it feels ike home.
MY LAND IS VIRGINIA!
This is where we have settled down after moving around during much of our 20′s.
My land is CA. I’m from SF but now live in LA. Even though the state is scary in trouble, it’s a great place to live. I hate to rub it in, but its sunny and 71 degrees. As long as the earth doesn’t start moving . . .
My land is Indianapolis! I’ve lived in multiple states and countries, but I always end up back in Indy– Speedway, to be exact– just a few blocks from the greatest spectacle in racing :)
My land is Illinois…and I adore that pillow. Want it!
My land is New Jersey! I love being close to both NY and the beach…but I can’t take these winters!
My land is New Orleans! I’m disappointed that there is not a New Orleans city pillow, but I’d be just as happy with Paris – my other favorite city :)
My land is Minnesota! I love the abundance of water (lakes and rivers) and of course Lake Superior. So pretty!
MY LAND IS RHODE ISLAND! In the winter I love all of the snow we get and in the summer I love our beaches!

O-H…;0)
MY LAND IS Alaska! My husband and I both grew up there and though we live in Michigan now, we know we’ll never find a place as beautiful as our hometown.
MY LAND IS FLORIDA! B/c its the only state that didn’t get snow. :) and that’s why we live here!
MY LAND IS NEW HAMPSHIRE! Well, for 4 months it’s been. Before that, for our whole lives actually, it was Illinois. Loving this snow in our new ‘home’ – reminds us of our old one!
MY LAND IS…Chicago by way of Charlottesville by way of Pittsburgh.

My Land is Barcelona, Spain
Mediterrean food, nice people and a beautiful city what else would you aske for ?
My land is Washington DC. Which apparantly relegates 600,000 of us to second class status. No pillow design, no voting rights…but I love it anyway.
