Fab Freebie: Olympic Color
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***
Paint a smile on your faces people, because that’s what we’re giving away this week! Paint, that is, not smiles (though hopefully smiles sort of come along with getting a prize, right?). This week we’re giving away a room full of paint from Olympic (that means 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer) to THREE people. Woo hoo! We love this stuff because now no matter what color you get mixed, it’s still 100% VOC-free. Can’t beat that, right? And that’s exactly why we used it in our bathroom remodel earlier this year. Plus, Olympic just launched a new, free desktop application called ColorClix to help inspire your perfect palette.
Once downloaded, the little ColorClix box invites you to click anywhere on your desktop – a photo, a video, an icon, whatever – and syncs that color with one in the Olympic catalog. Like if I wanted to build a room around the adorable picture of a snoozing chihuahua I’d just have to click anywhere on his fur to get an Olympic paint color (apparently Burger’s eyebrow is “Stony Creek”). It also displays the rest of the colors on the virtual swatch as well as recommended complimentary colors.
The program also lets you save all of your inspiration colors in projects sorted by room and then you can use those saved projects to virtually paint rooms on Olympic.com. You know, if you really wanted to go as far as to let your dog’s coloring determine the coloring of your walls.
So go have some fun playing with ColorClix and check out the rest of this week’s details:
- PRIZE: One room of paint from Olympic, including 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about a photo, object, or other inspiration item that you’d love to draw some paint palette inspiration from. Did you photograph a stunning landscape recently that could lend itself to an accent wall color? Have you spotted a vase or pillow at the store that could inspire a whole room?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 8th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
- PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

Paint me! I have a spunky orange pillow that I’d love to pair with some teal walls!!!
Paint Me!!!
PAINT ME!
I just bought a vintage lap quilt at a garage sale in turquoise and red and would love to color match it!
PAINT ME!
I am SOOOOO needing paint in my living room/kitchen/dining room area. If we won this, that’d give us the push we need to actually do it!
Paint me please!!
Paint ME!!! My master bedroom NEEDS it.
PAINT ME!
We’re expecting a baby and would love to paint the nursery walls a really whitewashed peach with yellow accents. Inspired by a photograph of a peony.
PAINT ME
Paint Me!!! I have an amazing photograph from Venice that I would like to design a room’s color around.
PAINT ME!
There’s so many inspirational things to choose from, but I’d love to grab some colors from the garden or a colorful painting in our house that once belonged to my boyfriend’s grandparents (they picked up on their honeymoon in Paris).
Paint Me–I wish i had an inspiration piece :)
PAINT ME!!!
I am currently looking for my inspiration to paint a nursery, thinking a subtle blue or green?? but still need to find that exact shade!
PAINT ME!
I found these great blue and white toile pillows. I’ve been on a toile kick for a while now and am really loving the blue colors recently. I want to use the blue for the walls in the living room and kitchen of our new home.
Paint Me! I have an awesome pic I took in Israel of the old city that I would like to have featured in my dining room.
PAINT ME!
This weekend, I headed down the shore and watched a sunrise over the ocean for the first time! It was spectacular — the sky brightened up very quickly and then, suddenly; the sun!
I would use the neutral colors from the sand and sky, mixed with some pops of sunny colors!
Paint me. I have a pic of a 32 Ford Pick-up that that’s hanging in my office. Some new paint would really make it look sweet in there.
PAINT ME! My husband and I are getting ready to paint the nursery for our FIRST child due next February. The inspiration we’re using for the room is beach shells from our home – Pensacola Beach (We live in Tampa now).
PAINT ME!! My grandson is my inspiration. I have several pics of him that I could use in a room.
PAINT ME! For my painting projects, I draw inspiration from my garden. Flowers are good at showing new and surprising color combinations.
PAINT ME! I just picked up a sham with various aqua and green flowers on it. Though it won’t directly be used in my son’s room, the colors are just what I wanted to use in his room, along with a paint technique inspired by the inside cover of one of his favorite books (“Little Pea” by Amy Krouse Rosenthal) to use on some accented areas (probably framed by molding to create places to hang his art). We’ve lived in an apartment since he was born, and we’re moving into our first house at the turn of the year, so I can’t wait to give him a fun and decorated room since he never had a nursery of his own!
PAINT ME! My husband took an amazing series of black & white photos that would really pop against silvery gray walls. Now to pick the right weekend for the transformation…
Paint me. I’m an Atlanta Falcons fan, and my wife has been wanting to fix up my office for me in that theme.
PAINT ME!
The best inspiration I have for painting is the boring old colors on my walls! Anything would be better than what I’ve got now. I did use a quilt with corals, red and greens to inspire my bedroom paint palette, but that was years agao and I REALLY want something new, I’m tired of it. So, please paint me!

PAINT ME!
We are currently making over our master bedroom and I am taking inspiration from the Bed & Breakfast we stayed at in August.
Paint Me! I’d love to find a paint that would go really well with my favorite shower curtain.
PAINT ME!
I’m always inspired by patterns and colors in fabric. I find the right swatch and design the room around it.
PAINT ME!
We’re building our own living room furniture… that will be our inspiration :)
“PAINT ME” My inspiration is that we are expecting 2 new grandkids, firsts for both my kids. Would love to help them with the nurseries.
PAINT ME: My husband and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon last summer. I can’t get over the beauty captured by our photos and would LOVE to have that translated into our *very, very boring bedroom* :)
PAINT ME! I just redid my office/guest room in shades of chocolate and gray, with pops of orange. Just need to find the right shade of gray for the walls…
PAINT ME!
Just picked up some funky fabrics to make a cover for my new piano !
PAINT ME! We just bought our house in May, so we are slowly but surely re-painting every room. When I was in college I took a photography class and learned how to snap some awesome pictures. There is one photo that I have of a blue/gray stone wall that I would like to use as inspiration for our office. This would be the perfect way to do it!
Paint me! My whole house has the same color walls…would love to have come color in my bedroom!

PAINT ME!
Nature, paper and fabric inspire me! My kitchen could use some paint for step 1 in a makeover.
PAINT ME! I have a quilt that could inspire a whole room.
PAINT ME! I’d love to see how a blue & white porcelain vase I inherited from my grandmother would look against periwinkle walls in my guest room.
PAINT ME!
I’d love to repaint my bedroom using pictures from my recent trip to Montana as inspiration. This program looks like a lot of fun!
Peignez-moi!
(Translation: ‘Paint Me! — frenchified.)
My inspiration? I love Van Gogh’s, “Vase with Twelve Sunflowers” painted during his stay in Arles, France… so I was think of doing a “color homage” of sorts to his ubiquitous painting.
Picture the painting’s dreamy blue-ground background on the bedroom’s walls, textiles in yellow-gold and cholocolate, with accessories in grassy green.
Très belle, n’est-ce pas?
;-)
PAINT ME! I would use some of the wonderful hand-dyed yarn i have as inspiration, the blends in the dye are so amazingly unique.
PAINT ME! I have inspired by the soft blues and greys of an old scenic photo of the coast. It would make for such a lovely bedroom color.
Paint Me: I need to redo my kitchen and bathroom and have some great brightly colored rugs to go with.
PAINT ME!!!
Oh please… seriously… paint me! I am having color remorse and need new paint!
I have an amazing painting my grandfather did that I am hoping to pull colors from. I missed the mark on one of my paint choices, so I need a re-do!
PAINT ME!!!!!
“Paint Me” I am inspired by Restoration Hardware’s paint color – Silver Sage!
PAINT ME!
I just painted a chair and a tv stand mint green, and I love the color, so I’d love to get something similar but a little different for some other pieces!
paint me!!!
PAINT ME! I love the neoclassical and Jugend facades in Helsinki. We’re fortunate that our fireplace surround already reminds me of them.
Paint me!
This is such an excellent freebie! I just finished painting my girls’ room and bathroom, and am going to start the rest of the house (yes the WHOLE house, including the ceiling AND fireplaces) next weekend! I’d love some free paint to compliment the artwork above the fireplace- painted by a great friend.
