Crate and Barrel’s Land of Nod had some great little accessories (like curtains!) that I wouldn’t have expected to like, too.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’d love to profile stores that are in other countries as well as the US – do you know of any others besides Ikea that overlap (which we usually mention quite often)? And remember that items that we showcase from the US might look quite similar to things you can get in Australia, so if you fall in love with a colorful chevron pillow from PB Teen, maybe googling around for Australian shops with something similar or even hitting up eBay might help? Remember to use things that you see and love here as a springboard to seek our items that resemble those things in your neck of the woods! Happy hunting…

Such fun pieces! Staring wistfully at a few of these got me thinking – would YHL consider looking at international stores for ideas? For example your top 6 non US countries (really crossing my fingers that Australia, where I’m from, is not No.7!!

I find that I’ll often totally overlook something that you go on to profile. Seeing it through your design savvy eyes helps!

Hope I’m not too late to ask this – Rachel mentioned ordering on the phone for a better deal?! I *must* know more. If she (or anyone else with details) can help me out, I’d be super psyched. I’ve wanted the linen dress form from PB Teen for a LONG time! So if I order on the phone, what am I supposed to say? “Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Mr. Salesman… don’t you want to give me a sweet discount?”

(In reality, I’d stutter and mumble and he’d convince me to buy *two* of them at full price somehow!)

I too love PB Teen! I love perusing their catalogs to get inspiration. I have a lucky 4 year old daughter who just got a new room and I splurged on a rug from PB Teen. Then I got cheap sheets from Target and added some ric rac trim (PB idea!). Then I made simple white curtains striped with fun ribbon and ric rac (PB idea!). I treat the catalog as a challenge to see what I can create (cheaply!) from the ideas I get from them.

I always check pbteen for finds for both our main house guest house- because often they have something is a fun color that will add some punch to a room. For my baby’s room I have a pbteen rug in it- fun colors for her and a little more “grown up” then the rugs at pbkids…so it doesn’t look “too baby” ;-)
