Burning Question: Take It Off?
When it comes to shoes in your house, what’s the deal? Do you have an always-off-at-the-door policy? Do you wear them inside and out without a second thought? Do you encourage kids to remove their shoes while adults may leave them on if you’re hosting a party? Or do you have that pile of adult shoes near the door with guests walking around in their socks or stockings when you have people over for dinner?

We’re itching to hear where you stand on the issue. In fact, we whipped up this handy little poll to keep everything tabulated:
[poll id="10"]
And we’d love to hear more about why you voted the way you did, so feel free to comment away with more details.
Psst- Sherry’s cheap-o flats are from Target, just in case you shoe-loving ladies are wondering.

The rules at my house are that some kinds of shoes have to come off, whereas others can stay on. Boots must come off, slip ons, flats, high heels and sneakers can stay on. Of course, we have hardwood and tile floors instead of carpet, so we don’t have to worry as much.
I have an absolutely NO SHOES in bedrooms policy, unless they are slippers that have never ventured outdoors. I had to take away my husband’s slippers and buy him Crocs so there would no longer be any confusion since he thought slippers were indoor/outdoor shoes.
I was born in raised in Socal and we never took our shoes off in the house. My boyfriend was raised in Minnesota and they always remove their shoes and expect guests to as well. I’ve come to the conclusion that this is completely regional since now that I’ve moved to where it snows (OH), shoes off seams to be the policy in most homes. This is definitely an on-going debate in our home. I say shoes on, he says off. We have a dog so the floors are going to be dirty no matter what! I also read that bare feet on carpets actually ruins them worse than shoes because of all the oils! I grew up in a shoes on home and managed to survive, so I’m shoes on person!
