Hi — I’m a new reader and what I really want to know is: where can someone get a platform bed like the one pictured for not a fortune? Any advice? I’m not wild about the IKEA options. Thanks!
Oh man, we were about to suggest the Malm bed from Ikea since it’s what we have and we love it. We’ve had it for over 4 years and it’s been a great purchase and it’s routinely ranked by high end magazines as the best bang-for-your-buck platform out there. Hope it helps!

That’s so funny! It’s definitely similar. The only plus is that ours is wicker so it conforms to your body and kind of “hugs” you (which probably works better indoors and for nursing) while it looks like that one is more rigid since it’s metal (which obviously would be the better outdoor choice). Love it!

Elizabeth – I think that YHL featured her blog a few (or several?) weeks ago, but Knock-off Wood (just Google it) might have something similar in a platform bed, and if she hasn’t got plans for it, you could request the plans. That’s if you’re interested in making your own bed. As for buying, I know a few people who have the Ikea one, and love it. Maybe it’s more of a “try it, you’ll like it” thing.
Oh yeah we love Knock Off Wood (there’s a link to that site in our Link Love section). It’s definitely a fun place to look for a DIY platform option that won’t break the bank. Hope it helps!

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I opened my email this morning (pre-6am workout!) and spied the email from John & Sherry. Isn’t that the most awesome way to start your day?!
The hubby and I chatted about it, and narrowed it down to celery or peacock. But, the peacock one just kept coming back as I envisioned how the duvet would look in our room. So, peacock it is!
I’ve had my eye on stuff from amenity for quite some time now (I love their hemp prints!), but the super bargain shopper in me could never quite splurge for them. So, this makes winning even more sweet!

Amenity has some great sales from time to time, so be on the lookout for those. My wife and I recently took advantage of one such sale and we have been extremely happy with our purchase. I would recommend any of their products without hesitation.
