I’m still trying to figure out where to buy that giant tomato that you’ve got drawn into the center of the rug. I’ll have to buy the magazine to find out.
I keep laughing because I keep seeing one giant tomato between the couch and tv, hahahaha!

I have a question about converting a dining room into a home office. The Mr. says we won’t use it as a dining room (and he could *really* use the space as an office) but I can’t part with my traditional tendencies. Thoughts?

Sarah from Ohio, your fiance won’t let you paint?? And he’s stressed about it and making you feel left out? I’m sorry, but that doesn’t sound nice at all, and it won’t be very much fun to be married to someone with such strict gender roles. Do what you want- go ahead and just paint! If he doesn’t like it, that’s his problem. You can make your own choices.

Dear Sherry & John,
My husband-to-be and I have all these dreams and plans for our older home that we purchased a year ago in January. We’re making slow progress because…he doesn’t let me help at all! He lets me generate ideas and “purchase” accessories and stuff to decorate with after he’s completed a project, but for some reason he acts like it’s the “man’s” job to do all the home improvements. He won’t let me even pick up a paint brush. It’s nice of him but it’s slowing us down, making me feel left out, and the projects are turning out to be sources of stress for him instead of fun projects we could be doing together. I’ve never said I don’t want to get down and dirty with the jobs; he just doesn’t give me a chance to try to help.

Thoughts?
