Fab Freebie: Quirk It, Baby
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***
Hooray for a giveaway from Quirk Gallery! We’ve been friends with the lovely ladies at Richmond-based Quirk for a while now and have already been lucky enough to have them grace our site on multiple occasions. Not only are they sponsors, but we’ve crashed two of their houses: Diana’s lively and eclectic home and Katie’s light and dreamy abode (which once appeared in Domino!). So you can see why we’re excited to finally be bringing some of their spot-on style to you guys in the form of a giveaway.
Quirk is part art gallery, part home decor shop, part jewelry store, part paper peddler and an all around good time. And since so many things always catch our eye whenever we visit, we couldn’t bear to narrow down this week’s prize to just one thing. So this week’s winner will actually get to pick from one of three quirky gift sets.
Option 1 is all about entertaining. It includes a Jonathan Adler candle of choice that will set the mood while you set out treats in the ampersand bowl.
Option 2 is right up my ceramic-loving-wife’s alley. It’s the iconic Polaroid ”ghost camera” paired with these poodle salt and pepper shakers that’ll make anyone smile.
Option 3 will spruce up any desk. It’s a graphic business card holder paired with the new Malibu Barbie Johathan Adler candle (or another fragrance if you prefer).
So how do you get your hands on one of these three Quirk-tacular gift sets?
- PRIZE: Your choice of either Option 1, Option 2, or Option 3 from Quirk Gallery.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “QUIRK IT” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … spill the beans about one of your personal quirks. Do you have a strange morning routine? A weird eating habit? Or an unsual lucky charm? We’d love to learn something new and unusual about you guys!
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 16th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States Only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

QUIRK IT!
I have an aversion to eating yellow foods – not sure why… especially yellow candy (its strange because I actually like lemon and banana flavors).
QUIRK IT!
I change my toothbrush once a week (I would change it once a day if my budget allowed)
I love your site!
QUIRK IT!
When eating french fries I typically eating down to where my fingers are gripping the fry and then I discard the tip
(weird and wasteful, gotta work on it!)
QUIRK IT!
I make lists for absolutely everything– packing, chores, shopping, etc.– but I will not let anyone read them because I am so embarassed about how detailed they are.
QUIRK IT!!
I have to check behind the shower curtains in my house when i get home! you never know what could be lurking in there! (usually a shower that needs some cleaning)
Merry Christmas!
QUIRK IT!
I am borderline OCD for sure, but my quirkiest habit has to be how I eat candy. Any type of multi-colored candy (M&M’s, Skittles, Spree, etc) has to be eaten according to ROYGBIV. I eat one of each color, in order, always eating a full “set.” Once I start running out of colors I just keep eating as full a set as I can assemble. Strange, no?
QUIRK IT!
When I buy things at the supermarket, I always move the stuff in the front and choose from the items at the back of the shelf.
QUIRK IT!
I won’t sit on any toliet seat that is not in my house-let’s just say I have AWESOME thigh muscles..:) No but seriously. I won’t do it. Is that wierd/quirky?
QUIRK IT!
When I go into a bookstore, I end up trying to turn all the books to be facing the same direction and moving misplaced books into the right spot. I should apply for bookstore jobs!
QuIrK iT!
I don’t like my feet to touch the bathroom floor when I’m…uh ‘em…doing my business. They either have to be resting on the rug or on my pants. ?!!!
Quirk it baby!
Before I go to sleep at night, all of the doors to the room have to be shut and the lights have to be off in those areas, especially bathroom and closet doors. I still have nightmares about things coming out of my closet… :)
QUIRK IT
I arrange my dvds by my own personal genres, i.e. “movies with killer soundtracks”,”football movies”,”movies that made me cry”, and, of course, “Patrick Swayze movies”
Quirk it! I have pics of what “clean and picked up” look like posted all over the house so the kids know what the room should look like to pass inspection.
QUIRK IT!
Oh my gosh, this list of quirkiness has been so entertaining to read!! Some are really……uh….surprising. Let’s just say that.
My eye twitches when I swing my arm. The opposite eye of whichever arm I’m swinging.
QUIRK IT!
I always eat all the way around my sandwhich before eating the center. I don’t really like the crust, so I eat it first and save the good part for last.
Weird. I know.
QUIRK IT!!
I have a small jar of dirt from the garden at the house I grew up in. We moved out of there when I was young, but I wanted to take part of it with me (I LOVED that house!) It’s a tender momento turned lucky charm! I keep it in my car. Werid. I know.
QUIRK IT!
I factor the telephone numbers on billboards in my head while I drive to relax. I am former math teacher :)
QUIRK IT!
Option 3 is my pick and I love it.
I always have to flip on a light in every room I go into. I am secretly afraid that if stays dark too long someone will pop up at me. I also think that if my body is completely covered by my sheets or comforter that nothing can happen to me that night or the next day. Totally weird I know.
QUIRK IT!
When I go grocery shopping I have to place all the items in my basket as if I were playing a game of Tetris. Everything needs to fit just right. If my dude throws something in the cart I make him stop so I can line it up. It drives him nuts, but I think he secretly loves it. I’m just saying…
QUIRK IT!
When buying something, I always pick one on the back of the shelf, never the front item that is on display. This is actual a good thing for milk because later expiring milk is the back!
QUIRK IT!
I am weirdly obsessed with the number 22. When driving, I like to play little games with people’s license plates. I try to add/subtract/multiply/divide the numbers (using each number only once) until the sum is 22.
QUIRK IT!
I LOVE option #3!
I just spent the last 2 days at work (on and off of course)… reading each and every one of these entries! Very entertaining.. and I find it very funny that so many of these strange quirky things aren’t really that unusual when you look at how many people listed them!
My unique Quirk.. I’ve been scared mustard all of my life.. without really trying it. I finally (accidentally) tried it on one intoxicated night at a NYC hotdog stand on vacation.. and I LOVED it! I couldn’t figure out what the flavor was! So apparently I like mustard, I just can’t bring myself to eat it again. It looks so scary and foreign.
QUIRK IT!
I have too many quirks I think! I pick up things with my toes when I’m cleaning so I don’t have to bend over as much. And I am ALWAYS looking for typos when I read anything from billboards to shampoo instructions. They just jump out at me. The last thing I do before I go to sleep is wash my hands.
Even if they’re not dirty. I can’t sleep if I don’t!
Quirk It!!!!
My silliest quirk would be the faces I make. I just know they’re going to show up in our wedding photos. I scrunch up my nose when people are talking or make fishy faces while typing emails. It makes no sense and I don’t realize I’m doing it until somebody inevitable asks, “What are you doing?” Heh. Uhh…nothing….. :-\
Quirk it! My quirk is that anytime i have boxed macaroni…i really must have canned applesauce to eat it with. and sometimes i mix the two…i know, bizarre!
“QUIRK IT!!”
I like Option 1. Something quirky is that I still sleep with my baby blanket, every night, and I am 26 years old! My husband refers to it as that old ratty thing!

QUIRK IT!
I couldn’t think of anything off the top of my head so I asked my co-workers if I had any quirks and they all laughed and rolled their eyes… I’m guessing that’s not a good thing?!
