Hooray for a giveaway from Quirk Gallery! We’ve been friends with the lovely ladies at Richmond-based Quirk for a while now and have already been lucky enough to have them grace our site on multiple occasions. Not only are they sponsors, but we’ve crashed two of their houses: Diana’s lively and eclectic home and Katie’s light and dreamy abode (which once appeared in Domino!). So you can see why we’re excited to finally be bringing some of their spot-on style to you guys in the form of a giveaway.
Quirk is part art gallery, part home decor shop, part jewelry store, part paper peddler and an all around good time. And since so many things always catch our eye whenever we visit, we couldn’t bear to narrow down this week’s prize to just one thing. So this week’s winner will actually get to pick from one of three quirky gift sets.
Option 1 is all about entertaining. It includes a Jonathan Adler candle of choice that will set the mood while you set out treats in the ampersand bowl.
Option 2 is right up my ceramic-loving-wife’s alley. It’s the iconic Polaroid ”ghost camera” paired with these poodle salt and pepper shakers that’ll make anyone smile.

I have a really weird one (or at least my co-workers think it is)… once I start using a pen (the writing utensil), I can’t use another one until the original one has penned its last note. Yeah, I know it doesn’t make much sense (or why I even care, who knows)… but it is what it is.

I don’t know if this is a “quirk” per se – but it is an irrational fear…..I have this fear of chipping a tooth by falling down (or tripping while walking up) a flight of stairs. I have never fallen down the stairs before, so I am not quite sure where this quirk comes from, but my husband mocks me for it when I grip the railings for dear life!

Quirk it! – I always have to have the tv volume as a multiple of 5, so its always at 10, 15, 20, etc. I don’t think my husband has even noticed. Yet!

I have a serious obsession with drying out my stainless steel kitchen sink after every time I use it. The water spots drive me nuts! :)

I have a huge aversion to cotton balls. The thought of sticking my hand into a bunch to get one sends shivers up and down my spine.

I have this strange thing I do with my hair when I’m rearranging stuff. I’ll step back, take a look at my new little vignette, and kind of fluff the top of my hair. It’s pretty funny, especially when I finally noticed that I do it alot!

I am a little too over organized when it comes to getting ready for the next day. I always make my lunch the night before and set out what I am wearing for the next day. I also shower at night (which my friends think I am crazy to do) so that in the morning I don’t spend all my time showering. I guess you could say I am routine based!

I wouldn’t say I have any weird morning quirks. I do wait to wash my face until the morning so I start out fresh…lol. I also shower at night instead of the morning…Weird huh? What else…Oh I would say one of the weirdest habits I have is painting my nails and then peeling in off a couple hours later. I like to get it off in one big chunk if I can. hee hee

I know its corny…Hubby & I always prefer to sit side-by-side at home and in restaurants when enjoying a meal together.

I’ve had a version of the hiccups for over 7 years! I hiccup randomly all day every day, anywhere from 1 to 20 in an hour. Some sound like tiny little squeaks, high pitched screeches (this is oh-so-pleasant), or your average hiccup. I’m pretty used to it by now but it’s always an adjustment for new friends or co-workers.
Option #1 is my fav. I’m in love with the ampersand plate.

QUIRK IT. I like ketchup on my eggs. Some things I like organized just so, sort of OCD. For example we play a game called ‘Settlers’ and if the pieces aren’t set up straight, I get annoyed. Or if a someone’s collar is popped or if a wall hanging is crooked, I have to fix it.

I just love you guys! Actually one funny quirk is when I get online I check my email, facebook, and then you guys, in that order! Seriously, I’m not just saying that either :)I am always excited to read the new posts and the videos are my favorite part. We bought our first house a few months back and your whole color scheme is our motivation for our home’s scheme. Anyway, thanks for your blog, its really is my favorite quirk.

I’m a new business owner, and would love Option 3!
My quirk: If I have a big project or presentation – I have to have a manicure. I’ve been like that since college – I would always get a manicure before midterms and final exams. If they aren’t done, I find a way to distract myself by messing with my fingers. When they are done, I have nothing to do but to focus on the task at hand.
quirk it….number 3 is my fav……..and the quirky thing i do is leave the oven open after cooking in the winter. warms the house….my husband says it makes no difference…he always closes it and when he walks away i open it again.

My bizarre quirk: I dont eat the “butts” on french fries, hot dogs or sausages. Really it just means I dont eat the ends. Why you ask?? I really have no clue!

When I start my workday, I have to make a list for the day. Sometimes, I’ll even write things on my list that I finished that day, just to cross it off.

Not sure if it’s a quirk per se, but I run on a 30-hour day instead of a 24-hour one. I really need to sleep for 10 hours and then be up for 20. Unfortunately, I think the only planet with that kind of rotation is Mars, and our company has not yet opened a branch office there.
