Apparently I'm a "Glamorous Classic"

"You have a refined sensibility with an appreciation for history and tradition in your furniture and your rooms. You value beauty and craftsmanship. You are visually sensitive and understand how symmetry and a balanced layout give order to a room. But you definitely like to shake things up with some unabashed luxury and glamour to keep things from getting boring. You go for rich materials like velvets, one-of-a-kind objects, lady-like touches, glimmering accessories, and a sense of old-Hollywood romance that makes your home dramatic and elegant.

You value creativity. You are stylish and fun loving, and can be an inspiration to others. You have a natural sense of drama, and you know you have to be willing to take risks—whether with colors, finishes, furniture choices, or ideas—for your home to stand out. Your home can be happy and lively and the place all of your friends want to be."

I don't think I'm refined, sensible (!) or visually sensitive - ok, maybe on that last one in the sense that a room that is 'off' to me will really bug me, but the last bit was me to a T, and the style sounds like it would suit me: velvets, and one-of-a-kind things. And I love my purple/blue/teal palette, exactly what I was thinking for our lounge!

I know I'm late on this, but it nailed me!

Amber, you are an Earthy Modern

You keep up with culture, style, and trends, but have an appreciation for timeless forms and simple lines. You value good design, quality craftsmanship, and prefer the streamlined to the overly embellished or cluttered. You also appreciate the warmth and individuality of natural materials and handcrafted things and are inspired by colors and forms from nature. This contrast is what makes your home intriguing and comfortable. You love mixing up different textures and are sensitive to the tactile qualities of objects. Your style is grounded and solid, not flighty or frilly.

You value order. You feel happiest if your home is well organized. You understand that when your house is in order, your mind feels clearer. Rather than a lot of meaningless objects or overly-designed items, you are happier with a few well-placed things. Your home is your respite from a busy life. Try to avoid letting things into your home that you don't really love.

I'm Country Classic. I'd say it's pretty much spot-on!

Christa, you are a Country Classic
You have a naturally refined sensibility with an appreciation for tradition and history. You value beauty, craftsmanship, and family heirlooms, but you like to open things up with pretty, easy-going pieces like painted wood or distressed furniture, lovely florals and other patterns, and bunches of fresh flowers that give your home a breezy, relaxed feeling. You love unique finds, have a thrifty, creative side, and can make these things work together.

You value comfort. Your home is a warm and open friendly place, and you feel happiest when everyone is cared for and relaxed in your space. Elements like pillows, throws, overstuffed furniture, and good lighting set the mood. You may also enjoy layering different fabrics or mixing patterns to create a cozy effect.

Global Modern - right on the nail head. With a nice palette of earthy grays and browns. That's me, all over. And my design challenge: Organize! Which is super correct also. I'm taking inspiration from your reader redesign a few weeks ago. The people with the awesome mud room!

Well, it said I was "Country Casual". I've heard this before and it makes me cringe thinking about goose covered wallpaper from my childhood! In my mind, I think I'm more "Sophisticated Cottage", if that exists. But truthfully, with a 2 year-old and an 8 month old we're more "Toddler Chic"! Everything has to be able to withstand what our kids can dish out. It's been interesting to see how our decorating/design needs have evolved as our children have grown.

I too am classified as Elegant Classic. Good stuff because I hate when there is too much going on in a room. Nice clean lines, a small dazzle of inspiration...ahhh...

Thanks for the link. I'm forwarding on to my girlfriends (which I'm sure they will be thankful for too!)

I got "Bohemian Casual"

You are interested in creating a place where people feel relaxed. You have a variety of interests and influences and so appreciate different styles, cultures, and objects. Your home is cozy, with comfy chairs, throw pillows and places to set a drink or a book. But it also feels creative and visually intriguing, because you have an artist's eye that allows you to find objects that appeal to you in a unique and personal way—whether from your travels or from a local shop. This gives your home a feeling of being laid-back, and maybe even a bit quirky with its mix of pieces—some of which are classic, some handmade, some ethnic, and some just rich in meaning to you.

Mine is definitely right—dramatic modern. It would be cooler if they linked you to a matching product page. I've never been to a HomeGoods because there isn't one in nyc. Maybe I can convince my husband we should go on a field trip. How does price compare to stores like Ikea and Target?
