Thanks for your prompt response. I am going to get a sample of the paint. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to snag a mood board for my living room. They go so fast, but I understand why. You two give such great design advice.

Have a good one!

Hey Kinikia,

We know the perfect blue for you! It's by Benjamin Moore called Quiet Moments and it's a soft blue with some gray in it (but not too much) so it's serene and airy without looking too babyish or bright. Plus it looks great with chocolate furnishings and beige accents. Hope it helps!

Hello

I simply love your blog. I look at it daily. I love this particular mood board because I am really into blue rooms. I am currently in the process of painting my bedroom and need advice on a soft blue paint that will go well with chocolate brown (if you are allowed to answer this request). My bedroom windows face south therefore I get a lot of sunlight during the day. There are so many blues out there that I want to make the right decision the first time around and not have to repaint because I hate the color I selected. I don't want a baby blue or one that is too bright or too gray. I am looking for something that will be calming yet match well with chocolate brown furniture and beige accents.

Thanks.

Hey Bridget,

You bet, just be sure to do two or three thin and even coats using the exact poly that we mention by name (in the tutorial we linked to above) to avoid any yellowing which can ruin the entire paint job. Hope it helps!

Youngsters, great mood board as always. quick question: does sealing the table w/ polyurethane protect the surface from food/liquids, thus eliminating the need for coasters, etc.?

Wow! What a find in the table!

And a equally brilliant find in the chairs!

The blue-gray color suggestion is the bomb too.

You'd have a uniquely beautiful dining room if it only contained that set, Tristina!

Your design boards are so very helpful to me (and I'm sure, many others)! Please don't ever stop posting them. This one is especially beautiful. Nice work!

Laura- Crisp white semi-gloss paint on those moldings and trim will look lovely in Benjamin Moore's Decorators White. Hope it helps!

Tracie- A good sandy tan paint is Ashen Tan or Cedar Key by Benjamin Moore (or even Glidden's Water Chestnut).
