This comment might be a little late, but I see those bookshelves on craigslist all the time! When I wanted the same shelves, but in a different color, I just kept an eye out and within two weeks (after bypassing quite a few other Expedit shelving systems) I found exactly what I wanted. Take a look there for some deals!

Love the plans for the space looks very functional but with loads of style. I also like the calming color selection and the natural textures. Cant wait to see the photos!

I own that round rug and I LOVE it. I love it so much that I left a positive comment on Overstock as jr18. Excellent choice!

Seriously, this is the best mood board I've seen so far. EVER.

I love it because it tackles a tough space to fill and you did it wonderfully! And it's such an easy fix!

And I LOVE your idea of using the Expedit series... I want Lee to know we bought the large Expedit bookcase for our son (in birch finish) 5 years ago, and despite his repeated abuse/misuse/neglect, it still looks brand new. That is impressive, considering the wear he has put on it.

Fab, fab idea. And I love the accessories.

Great job, YHL!

The Itso large fabric bins from Target also fit perfectly into the Expedit. They come in more colors than are available online right now.

Great ideas! And inexpensive too. I love how you softened all the squares with the round rug, pendant light and dish artwork. I can't wait to see BOTH spaces finished... here's hoping!

We have a room with a similar lay out. It's an entrance, that has doors to the bedroom, living room, and kitchen. It ends up being more of a walk through- and I've been searching for a way to make it more cohesive and usable. Great inspiration and very practical.
