I’m Kind Of A Big Deal
Hey guys, Burger here. I’m commandeering my parents’ blog to announce that as of quite recently, I too have a blog (and I’m not gonna get catty or anything but mine’s better).
Because the most requested addition to Young House Love (according to mom and dad’s recent blogiversary survey, completed by over 1000 people!) was “more Burger” I was inspired to get my lazy duff off the sofa/armchair/daybed and begin chronicling my very own adventures for all to enjoy. In the words of Susan Lucci: you like me, you really really like me.

Wait, that wasn’t Susan Lucci? It was Sally Field? Oh well, what do you expect? I’m a dog- I can’t retain useless human information like that. Anyway, without further ado I present Hamburger’s House. You’ll always be able to access it easily by clicking the little green button with my mug on it on the sidebar of this blog (assuming you even want to continue visiting this blog after you get a load of mine). Or you can just type in www.hamburgershouse.com to get there directly. My goal is simple. Give the world what it wants. More me. (I’m nothing if not humble). And instead of interspersing photos of yours truly among all the DIY and home improvement chatter here on YHL, you’ll be able to get your daily dose of dog all in one place.
Honestly, I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly. I’ll be sharing photos, opinions, and other pup related musings over there every day along with pooch travel tips and much more. And I even hope to branch out into pet-related giveaways and do some volunteer work to get four-legged friends of mine adopted (if you know of a dog who needs a home, drop me a line and I’ll spread the word!). Just trying to use my animal magnetism for good.
Oh and don’t forget to check out my little video section (by clicking the “Lights, Camera, Action” tab under the header). I’m kind of a charmer when I’m in motion. As demonstrated by gems like this old my-parents-put-a-shirt-on-me-and-I’m-mad-about-it rebellion:
And this cold-air-makes-my-legs-and-arms-instinctively-paddle-like-I’m-about-to-be-dropped-in-a-river moment (recently enjoyed with Katie and Jeremy Bower while we were in Nashville with them).
So whaddya say? Wanna see the world according to Burger? Just drop in on my blog and see how I spend my days, how I charm the ladies and how my parents manage to mortify me every now and then. It’s guaranteed to be more fun than a poodle in heat.

well parents of Burger, you did yet another great job. This is just way too cute. Way to go Burger. ;-)
Holy Fur Baby! Thats adorable! So excited :)
Ok, I can’t believe you did all that work!! Wow! Our two-year-old loves seeing pictures (or videos) of Burger and I know she’ll love the new blog! This is her, “More, more. More Burger.” :=)
You guys are amazing I love it! Maybe I’ll make a partner blog for my furbaby. Always something fun and exciting to see on your blog and now Burger’s as well.
Burger is the number one doggy blogger around! Luv it!
“I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly” enough said. I’m in love.
Oh wow. You guys are too much. This is hysterical!
Baaaahahahahhahaaaaa….awesome
Yay! This is too cute!
I LOVE the Burger Blog! YEAH!!!
LOVE IT! My pup occassionally does guest posts on our family blog and those are always the most popular. So cute!
I love Burger :)
I was really starting to wonder if you had any free time between the blogging, the store, the mood boards and the facebooking. I guess this blog kinda answers that question… ;)
Oh, I’m so excited!!! Going to check out his new ‘home’ now. :)
P.S. Love the swimming action. He’s definitely a superstar.
“I’m Kind Of A Big Deal”… hahaha, that’s one of my favorite movie lines of all time!!
Love it! Especially the swimming video and the interview one. Precious, and I’m not even a dog person. Look forward to more.
YAY Burger! Congrats to you! Your new home looks darling! I can’t wait to see your videos!
On a side note – to your parents….a while back you had a give away that was an Alice & Co. toolbox from Delight.com. I am looking for a very similar pink toolbox for my mom – a recently divorced breast cancer survivor who is dying for her own pink tool box & set. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that this is available at Delight.com, so I am writing to find out if you have any suggestions for where I may find such a thing….sorry to steal Burger’s thunder, but if anyone will know it’s you guys!
Thanks so much!
Johnna
Love it! Burger is too cute not to love.
Ok, those burger videos are seriosuly hilarious. Our dog ALSO hates when we put clothing on him. Last Halloween, I made him be a bumble bee. He was so pissed…he kept trying to knock the antennaes off with his paws. So funny!
I love how he was running in mid air. He was SUPER BUGER! Too cute guys.
LOL!!! You guys are hilarious and make my mornings at work. Who else could think of this.. with such funny comments. Kudos.
Thank you from all of us non-pet-lovers (not a hater – just not a lover). I was worried your beautiful blog would get diluted but this new blog will ensure great balance. Win-win for everyone!
I love it! Burger is awesome!
OMG!!!!! SO PERFECT!! I love it!! Now I have even more execuses to vis YHL!!!
You guys are so good it’s silly. Keep it up!
dear burger – my name is buddy and i too have owners that put a costume on me that i hated. it was a collar and tie and i really hated it. our humans need to learn what we love – treats. forget the tricks. no more costumes!
signed,
buddy the cat.
Hey Buddy The Cat,
We’re supposed to be sworn enemies but I have to agree with you. Pets + clothes = awkward. Good luck fighting the good fight against costumes. Keep your head up.

I love Burger (and secretly think he and Ries would be BFFs, of course)! The costume video is so funny… I’ll have to take one of Ries in her snow boots this winter because it’s hysterical and you would get a kick out of it.
Yes snow boots. I’m not a “crazy” dog owner, promise, but she has to wear snow boots on certain snowy/cold days because something about certain days when we have this dry CO air and snow, blah-bity-blah-blah, makes it crystalize in her paws and she won’t walk… it’s so sad, all she does is yelp and jump from paw to paw. We were bad owners, took us awhile to figure out what the problem was and just blamed her on being spoiled, err I mean a wimp!
And truly, Burger 2012. 100m Freestyle, I’ll be there. You should make shirts.
The video of Burger from Halloween is my favorite. I saved that when you first debuted it. It never fails to make me laugh!
Oh my gosh, this is hilarious! Love it!
Ahhahahaha. Very creative. Love it.
Your dog is adorable. We’re going to foster a dog from our local animal rescue this spring; we’re excited. We have 3 cats and we forcefully dress them up for holidays to take angry, I mean silly, photos of them for family to laugh at. Our cats don’t do laps though…wish they did, they just lay down and growl.
Burger – I’m so sorry your parents treat you like that. Between the swimming and the t-shirt I think you have a pretty good animal cruelty case building. Keep your head up – you and I both know you run that house.
Jamie,
It’s true. Sometimes it’s hard to be me but my I’m-the-boss attitude really helps me get through the day. Maybe I need a badge or something to prove my superiority.
-Burger
LOVE IT!
Wow,I too said “more burger” in the survery but you guys hit it out of the ballpark – his own blog?!?! My dog Tanner will be SO jealous – think he could be a guest doggy blogger someday soon? He is the cutest dog ever (sorry what can I say) and he’s full of personality.
Tanner’s Mom
Hey Tanner,
Tell your mom that we’ll be doing a “Burger’s Buddies” feature where pups can send me their pics and possibly get some air time on Hamburger’s House. Sounds like fun, eh?
-Burger
Burger –
I air swim too!
Lenny the dog
Hey Lenny,
Sending a big virtual high five your way for joining me in an air swim or two. Can’t fight evolution, right?
-Burger
yay! more videos of burger too please!!! he is so funny!
Oh, too funny. And FYI Burger, it was Sally Field.
Janell
You guys are so funny and your dog is so, so, SO adorable! Great videos!!! :) :)
Burger is awesome! I have a 12-year old male Chihuahua named Meeko and Burger and him look A LOT alike. Did you get him locally? I live in Richmond, too and got him from a breeder in Ashland. Meeko does that swim thing when you hold him up to water (fish tanks are my favorite). Maybe they are long lost brothers ;)
Hey Sarah,
I’m only three years old but maybe Meeko is a long lost cousin (or uncle?). My parents rescued me from a local litter of two (my sis was a long-haired cutie named Bugette) but maybe if Meeko’s in the neighborhood we can meet up and compare fur patterns someday…
-Burger
LOL – this is too cute!!
This is too cute!! One of our dogs HATES wearing clothes too. She just stands there staring at us like she’s stuck to the floor LOL I know, it’s not fair puppies, but you’re so cute!!!
Oh. My. God. I love it, and can’t stop laughing the cuteness!!!
Hey Burger,
You are too cute. And your parents too!
I am a one year old long-hair chihuahua. I wish we lived closer together so we could play. You seem pretty cool.
-Pesto
Hey Pesto,
I love it. We both have food-inspired names. I’m sure we’d be a delicious pairing. Let’s hang out if you’re ever in my neck of the woods…
-Burger
These videos….and the new blog….are fantastic!!
My mini dachshund Olivia will be so exciting (she has a HUGE crush on Burger)!
Thank You Burger! That was funny and you cured my 6 year old from her whinny-ness because she was laughing so hard!!!
OMG you two. Seriously FUNNY.
HOW EXCITING!!! :)
HH = instant love
HILARIOUS! I love the videos of Burger. He does many of the same things that my little dog does (his name is Turbo) does (except of course the AC swimming, now that is some skill). Thanks for an early morning laugh.
