Love, love, love! I knew this was a Fan house….so much character and texture! Thanks for sharing, Stacie! The idea of painting the fireplace a metallic color is brilliant and the wallpaper is a beautiful touch too! Please tell Jeff that his mural is absolutely gorgeous! Love!

It’s the Moorish Tile Rug from Pottery Barn (we also have one in yellow in our living room). It’s no longer for sale at PB, but maybe you can find it on ebay? Happy hunting!

wow. amazing how much a little bit of paint or wallpaper and the right accessories can do! that fireplace is amazing. she is brave with the paint colors (dark, dark front room!) but her bravery pays off!! i want her dining room!!!!!

Hi Maureen.. dining room table and 2 x-back chairs are from Baker Furniture in Georgetown. Found in the basement on sale or would not have been able to get it. Its still my biggest splurge. The other 2 chairs are inexpensive copies from La Diff.
And Bailey, Sherry and John are welcome back anytime to peep my bathrooms. I just need plenty of notice since I have 2 little boys in the house with very poor aim : )

Love ALL the updates in the photos (the lighter/brighter bedroom, the yummy wallpaper in the dining area, etc.), but if I had to pick just one thing, I’d zero in on the fireplace because (1) I’m not familiar with that metallic paint finish; (2) I’ve never seen a fireplace done in that finish; it’s a kick! and (3) I’ve been stumped ever since I moved to my place in (gasp) 2007 for ideas on how to update my condo’s plain-jane fireplace mantel and floor-to-ceiling “surround.” I’ve considered tile; glass mosaic OR faux painting marble … but these metallic-shimmer paints are yet another idea! And certainly the simplest of the bunch. Hmmm…. :)
