Fab Freebie: Crib Your Enthusiasm
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***
In honor of our new nephew’s arrival this week (he’s scheduled to come via C-section on Wednesday!) we’ve got the mother of all baby-themed giveaways courtesy of LaJobi Industries. They’re the makers of stylish baby and youth furniture and this week they’re giving away an eco-friendly crib and crib mattress to one lucky parent (or parent-to-be).
The Dakota crib by Graco is their first environmentally friendly crib – it’s made from sustainable woods, the dark walnut finish is water based and all the packaging comes from recycled materials. Plus, it looks pretty darn good. You can read all the nitty-gritty details about it on Walmart.com, since they’re the exclusive retailer of the Dakota line (which also includes a changing table).
But an eco-friendly crib wouldn’t be complete without an eco-friendly mattress to pair it with. So LaJobi is throwing in a Serta Nightstar Eco Firm mattress, which is made from organic cotton layers. Together that’s a $330 package that should help both you and your baby sleep better!
- PRIZE: LaJobi’s Eco-Friendly Dakota Classic Crib by Graco and Serta Nighstar Eco Firm Crib & Toddler Mattress
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CRIB ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what your favorite bedtime story is. Is it a classic like “Goodnight Moon”- or something more progressive like “Captain Underpants?”
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 21st at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Crib Me!
I love all the Robert McCloskey books, but my all-time favorite is “One Morning in Maine” — my dad used to read it to me. :)
Crib Me
I don’t remembember my favorite growing up but my favorite to read to my kids was the Berenstain Bears.
CRIB ME!!!
My favorite bedtime story is a modified version of the Wizard of Oz. My mom used to skip to when they go to the city of Oz and make up stories about the people who lived there. I would hear a story about a boy in Oz who talked to much and how the wizard punished him if I had gotten in trouble for talking in class that day. lol
CRIB ME!!!!
My son’s favorite bedtime story is Freight Train. I guess it is my favorite one now b/c it settles him and he just loves reading it and cuddling. But as a child, I used to obsess over Shel Silverstein’s books and try to memorize all of the poems.
CRIB ME!!!
My All Time favorite book when I was a little girl was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”. I also loved “The Giving Tree”.
CRIB ME!
My fave story (although not necessarily a bedtime story) was “From the Mised-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” I use to demand it to be read to me all the time.
I now blame it on the reason I started working in museums. :)
Crib me :-)
My favorite stories were always the made up ones – you never knew where you would end up or have to wait to continue the story the next night!
Crib Me!
My favorite bedtime story as a child was a book called “Alexander”. It is about a little boy who had a pet zebra name Alexander, and he would blame all the bad things he would do on his “pet” zebra. This book was written in the late 50′s and was my dad’s book as a child!
CRIB ME!!
I loved “Are you my mother?”. There are so many fantastic kids books out there, I can’t wait to start a little library for my future children.
Crib me!!
I always loved anything from the Disney series. I think my favorite was Snow White – my mom would imitate the dwarfs as she read.
Congrats on your nephew!!
CRIB ME!
The Phantom Tollbooth – my mom used to read it to my brothers and I when we were younger, and now that I’m expecting my first child in three months, my husband is reading it to my belly!
CRIB ME!!!! Baby number #2 (surprise!) is on his/her way!
Favorite bedtime story is Poodlena…the story of a pink, prissy poodle who discovers playing is more fun the primping.
Crib Me! This is super cute. :)
My favorite bedtime story is “Love You Forever,” so more of a classic I would think (that some people find creepy).
CRIB ME! I just found out I was pregnant :) and my husband I finished a 30 day total renovation of our house from the 30s to get very dated house in shape for the wedding in our backyard. MUCH inspiration came from your site, including our paint scheme of grays, white and greens.
As a child, I loved it when my grandpa would come over and put me to sleep with one of his own stories from growing up on a farm in rural South Dakota!
“CRIB ME” pretty please! My favorite bedtime story as a small child was “I love your for always”. Can’t remember who it was by, sorry!
CRIB ME!!!
It is really quite impossible for me to answer this question because I am a children’s librarian so I have quite a few favorite bedtime books!
Thank you!
CRIB ME!
It was always some improv-version of the Three Little Pigs for my daughter. Sometimes they were like rappin’ piggies from the hood, and sometimes they were like little Hanzie and Franzie girly-man piggies….we just used to make it up as we went along!
CRIB ME!
My favorite was always The Giving Tree, and in my adulthood I realize what a sad story it is!
“CRIB ME”
My favorite bedtime story is Wynken, Blynken & Nod. It’s the story Mrs. Wilson tells Dennis in Dennis the Menace.
Oh my , crib me! This would be awesome!
I’m going to go back to one of my earliest favorites, Go Dog Go. I’m pretty sure that’s a P.D. Eastman book, though it “looks” like a Dr. Suess book (same publisher and format). Both my sister and I stared at those drawings for hours! It’s one of the first books my husband and I purchased for our child’s collection… actually I think we bought it before we were married. =)
Crib Me! My favorite bed time story was really a series of stories from my Dad about Pocahontas (me) and Big Chief (my brother) – they had the greatest adventures!

Crib me!
Appropriately, I loved a book called “I Do Not Want to Get Up Today!” but I can’t remember the author – just the silly, nonsense rhymes. :)
