Hey Michelle,

Here's that info for ya:

Bedroom – the entire room is painted in Behr’s Castle Path (730C-3), then I did the stripe one shade darker in Behr’s Garden Wall (730D-4).

Bathroom stripes – Sherwin-William’s Relaxed Khaki (SW 6150).

Hope it helps!

xo,

What paint colors did you use? I think they're perfect--just the right amount of subtle and drama!

Hey Jamara,

Hmm, good question! So sorry it's not going as smoothly for ya. We've heard that one way to stop any seepage is actually to paint the stripe with the wall color first and wait for that to dry (anything that bleeds beyond the tape onto the wall will match the existing wall color). Then once it's dry you can follow the wall color with two coats of the stripe color, which shouldn't seep since the first coat did (and because it matches the wall you should get a perfect edge). We also think you could just get a good short handled brush like this and touch up a bit of the uneven edges (we actually did this on a very old project and although it sounds impossible it came out looking pretty good just doing it by hand after the tape was removed. Hope it helps!

I've decided to go stripes with the rest of you, however I'm going vertical and in my office. I know I'm supposed to pull the tape off right after I paint my second coat. But I'm having a little trouble, my second coat edge is fantastic but it looks like my first coat is seeping (sp?) under the tape so I don't have that razor sharp edge I am looking for. Any suggestions?

Oh, this is so funny! I was just thinking that my hallway/gallery wall could use some stripes. I came over here for the tutorial and what do you know? More inspiration. :)

Thanks, guys!

I am loving your stripes Jamie but I have another unrelated question for ya...where did you guys get your nightstands?? Haha my hubby and I have been looking everywhere for some nightstands and your bed looks very similar to the same color ours is so I thought I would see where you picked up your lovely tables. Thanks so much and thanks for the awesome inspiration pics to do our own bathroom re-do!!

Love the stripes! I am trying to convince my husband to let me do that is our bathroom, one question though, we have a tub with tile that goes up practically all of one wall and a curved ceiling on that wall, do I skip doing stipes on that wall or try to work it out so they fit?

Loved it. Although I did look at the before pic and wondered how they could improve that. But they totally did. I'm SO going to do that too!

Hey Alyzande,

Scroll up a while to see Jamie's comment with the paint colors that she used. Hope it helps! So funny that you have the same potted plants that she has in the bathroom! It's a small world, eh?
