Love the orange and turquoise color scheme! And that Target lamp is adorable. I just used the lime version in a mood board I did for a friend's guest room redesign...

The blue and orange combination is amazing! I've been contemplating a guest bathroom redo. Blue and orange wasn't on my radar, but it might be now!

Hey Yvette,

We haven't seen it yet but we'll definitely check it out. We love Nip/Tuck so we just might enjoy it.

Have you ever watched Addicted to Beauty? They recently redesigned their waiting room of the plastic surgery office in this color palette and I think they used the exact same rug! If you haven’t seen the show I recommend it – It’s hysterical in a weird kinda way ;-)

Ok, thanks! That helps! Maybe I will send you pictures sometime of our accent walls and you guys can tell me if they look right or not. I'm still trying to decide if I like the way they turned out or not. : )
Thanks so much for window tips too! So helpful! Have a great day and thanks for letting me throw in my questions, I didn't want to disturb the mood board convo. : )

Hey Diana,

Accent walls are sticky but can be amazing when they're used in juuuuust the right way. We've featured many a Reader Redesign with an accent wall that totally makes the space, but you just have to be careful that the pop of color or pattern that you're adding to one wall doesn't make the room feel lopsided, unbalanced, or fractionalized and chaotic. In short, very few spaces actually call for an accent wall, which is why we rarely use them in Design Dilemmas (the goal is usually to make a room feel open, expansive, and add to the flow so accent walls can make a dramatic statement but don't usually aid in accomplishing these three things). As for frosting your door entry window, that sounds awesome! We've actually only used the frosting film you can pick up at places like Home Depot but I'd imagine that if you follow the directions on the Rustoleum spray you could end up with something fabulous! And I bet you can just scrape it off with a razor if you're not in love since glass is easy enough to strip back down when it's sprayed with something. Hope it helps!

xo,

Ooooooh! I love love LOVE the color combo!! So cheery and modern. : )
I have two design problems of my own that I've been wanting to ask...
1. What are your thoughts and opinions of "accent walls". For example, if a room has a lighter tone on 3 walls and then a pop of color on a 4th.
2. We have one of those "Door Entry Windows", the kind that is all glass to the side of the door and goes the length of the door to the floor. I'm wanting to do something "modern/contemporary" and we had the idea of frosting it. Have you had much luck with Rustoleum's spray on frost or would you recommend something else? Is spray painting in the house bad/toxic and would it look even and not splotchy since it's spray paint?
Thanks again and I really am in love with the mood board above. It makes me want to paint something orange!!! : )
