NAME MY DESIGN
One of my nicknames is Shelma and was coined in college by combining parts of my first name (Shelley) and middle name (Marie). To my friends from college, I am still always known and referred to as Shelma.
NAME MY DESIGN
I think my parents were sniffing too much glue! Sorry, other Hollys, but I’ve never liked my name!
NAME MY DESIGN
Im not named after anyone!
I was named after one of Elvis Presley’s fave French movie stars. How this happened exactly, I will never ever know.
NAME MY DESIGN!
I was named after my grandma, but she went by Betty instead of Elizabeth.
NAME MY DESIGN
I am named after a soap opera character from guiding light – she was eventually killed off the show.
NAME MY DESIGN: i was named after my aunt who, unfortunately passed away about a year before i was born. but instead of just honoring her by passing along her name, my parents wanted to celebrate her life as well, so my middle name is “chaya” which is hebrew for “life.” (more important though, this contest comes at *such* an appropriate time, b/c i’m 6 months pregnant and would LOVE one of these in our brand new baby girl’s room!)
NAME MY DESIGN!
My first name is after my aunt, and my middle name (Jean) is the femine version of my grandfather’s name.
Name My Design! What a cool give away!
My last name just recently changed to Ray when I got married. If you say “Amanda Ray” fast enough it sounds like “MANTARAY!”
NAME MY DESIGN!
My nickname is Meemers…and I have no idea how it came to be! :)
NAME MY DESIGN
Long story short: You take the good, you take the bad, you take it all, and there you have – a girl named Blair after a character on “The Facts of Life.”
NAME MY DESIGN!
Kristy isn’t my first name, but it’s a nickname of my middle name, Kristelle. Still not 100% sure of its origin – guess I should ask my mama!
NAME MY DESIGN!
My first name isn’t after anyone, but my middle name (Drew) was my great-grandma’s maiden name.
NAME MY DESIGN

NAME MY DESIGN
My first name isn’t after anyone but I share a middle name with my father’s favorite sister who is also my God Mother.
Name My Design: My name is an Origin of Caroline, which is my Grandmothers name. So I am named after my grandmother. =)
My name is Sara Katherine Robb Allman. My first name, “Sara,” was given to me as a way to honor my maternal grandmother: an extremely bold, fiesty and loving Southern woman who grew up in desperate poverty as a cotton farmer in Memphis, TN. My second name, “Katherine,” was attributed to me as a tribute to my fraternal grandmother, Katherine Robb, who was one of the first women in her small Indiana hometown to go to college and, later, get a Masters degree in History. My parents wanted me to have all of the wonderful qualities of both of my grandmothers. Since birth, however, I have always been called “Kate.” My parents got the name from the play “The Taming of the Shrew” by William Shakespeare. They thought that the character Kate was a beautiful representation of a woman that was passionate, headstrong, yet capable of very much love. Ironically, I have very much turned out the same way.
NAME MY DESIGN
I’m not named after anyone, but my name is Jessi and my husband’s name is James. Jessi. James. Jessi James. Get it? Ohhh, it’s funny, and you know it.

NAME MY DESIGN!! My name has the same meaning as Jacob and Jesse (two of my brothers)…my parents couldn’t decide on many names they liked, so we all have virtually the same name.
NAME MY DESIGN
I’m not named after anyone (that I’m aware of) but my nickname comes from my nephew (who is now 9). He was learning to pronounce my name as a toddler and his mom would practice the “cuh” sound with him. That morphed into CooCoo and that has been my nickname for the past ~8 yrs. Crazy as it sounds, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. :-)
NAME MY DESIGN
My nickname is “Mo”. Back when I was newly married I went with my husband and his parents to Hawaii. My father-in-law started called me “Kimo” as this was a Hawaiian name we were hearing a lot. I am still called “Kimo” by most of my family but my sister shortened it to “Mo” and she still calls me “Mo” 20+ years later.
NAME MY DESIGN! I don’t really have a nickname, but my fam calls me Kat. I guess they are too lazy to say Kathy :)

NAME MY DESIGN
I got my nickname – Nerd Girl – from my three younger brothers. They were/are extremely disappointed to have such a goody-two-shoes for an older sister. My angelic behavior made their infractions seem that much worse :)

NAME MY DESIGN!
My nickname is Emilata…which dates back to a Valentine’s poem that a boy in 4th grade wrote for me and it has followed me for 16 years……I hate it and cringe whenever someone says it. To this day though, I can recite the entire poem by heart. :)

NAME MY DESIGN!
I’m not named after anyone that I am aware of. My nicknames growing up were “bird-bones” & “super sonic Sarah-Farrah”. I guess I was tiny & had great hair?? Wish I could say those names stuck, but they haven’t. Ha ha!! :)
NAME MY DESIGN!
I was named after my paternal grandmother, but my older brother has always called me Boog. He always said I was a little booger, which eventually became just boog.
NAME MY DESIGN.
My nickname is Izzy which is pretty unique for someone named Elizabeth. “Izzy” was my baby sister’s first word (in reference to me) and it stuck!
oooh love! NAME MY DESIGN!! My dad named me after a Charlie’s Angel. I know… My sister got Devon after a village in England. Grrr. :)
NAME MY DESIGN!
