Fab Freebie: Space Rhino

This may be my favorite freebie title of all time. Is it the name of a band? Is it the newest Pixar film? Nope, it’s just the two words that describe the options that this week’s SIX winners will get to choose from thanks to Cardboard Safari. They’re the makers of cool, quirky animal trophies that are formed entirely out of intersecting pieces of laser-cut cardboard. So if you ever wanted that big moose head on your wall but didn’t have the heart to bust out your inner-Palin, they’ve got you covered.
In fact, Cardboard Safari is so environmentally friendly that their cardboard is all recycled, non-toxic and made locally. They’re actually based in nearby Charlottesville, VA and we’ve bumped into their quirky, cool products all over town lately (our friend Noah even helped design their skull-themed products) so we figured it was about time we did a giveaway with them.
And just as the post title suggests, we’re giving away two of their newer products as they continue to expand beyond their signature trophies. This week’s winners will get to choose from their new Full-Body Rhino OR Astro Rocket (shown above). Each comes in three sizes in either brown or white cardboard (though they’re entirely paintable if you’d prefer, say, a pink rhino). They’re shipped flat and assembly is easy (kinda like a fun puzzle).
In fact, you can check out the video below of us putting together the – prepared to be shocked – small white rhino that we snagged for our very own home. The whole thing took us about 15 minutes, not including a bathroom break for a certain four-legged family member.

My dream adventure vacation would be a trip to Antarctica. I have a goal to visit each continent, but since it will be most expensive to see this continent, it would be a nice dream to go ALL-OUT! I would go on a nice ship, with great scientific speakers, so I can learn the whole time. I would ice climb and see lots of wildlife. It will happen one day…just maybe not on the nicest ship.

I’ve actually been on a Safari before..when I was 15 I went to Nigeria, Africa. It was alright. I didn’t get to see much because it was the rainy season…what I have ALwAYS wanted to do is go to the Moon! My Grandpa helped design control systems for the original space shuttle, the gemini and Apollo spacecraft. I’m super obsessed with rockets and space. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Astro Rocket!

My hubbs and I would love to someday take our three kids on an adventure trip to Wyoming, where the hubbs and his family hails from. For now, being in Florida with a family of people that prefer the road and not the sky for travel, those plans are taking an unfortunate back seat. Great pun, wasn’t it? :)

These are awesome! I would love to have one next to the bed. I would love to go on an adventure in Japan. Staying in a traditional style home out in the country, traveling into the city to explore, eating fabulous food, not knowing the language and learning it by living it. It would be an amazing time.

I’ve actually got a few dream vacations:
1. Backpack through Australia and stop to hug a koala and swim the Great Barrier Reef, among other adventures.
2. I went to Saipan (north of Guam) for work last year, but only had half a day to myself. I’d love to go back there and actually explore every nook and cranny at the island, including some more of the best snorkeling ever at Managaha Island.
3. YES I really want to go on an African safari!! It’s an absolute dream of mine! Plus tigers are my favorite animal :)

Every day when I drive home from work during the summer, I pass *right* by the cruise ships leaving from Baltimore. Like, within 50 feet of the parking lot. I soooo want to go on a cruise after seeing all those happy people getting on!

I would love to go into space. I just watched Walter Cronkite’s reaction to the first man on the moon.. and his gleeful speechlessness is how I feel about the cosmos out there.
