Fab Freebie: Space Rhino

This may be my favorite freebie title of all time. Is it the name of a band? Is it the newest Pixar film? Nope, it’s just the two words that describe the options that this week’s SIX winners will get to choose from thanks to Cardboard Safari. They’re the makers of cool, quirky animal trophies that are formed entirely out of intersecting pieces of laser-cut cardboard. So if you ever wanted that big moose head on your wall but didn’t have the heart to bust out your inner-Palin, they’ve got you covered.
In fact, Cardboard Safari is so environmentally friendly that their cardboard is all recycled, non-toxic and made locally. They’re actually based in nearby Charlottesville, VA and we’ve bumped into their quirky, cool products all over town lately (our friend Noah even helped design their skull-themed products) so we figured it was about time we did a giveaway with them.
And just as the post title suggests, we’re giving away two of their newer products as they continue to expand beyond their signature trophies. This week’s winners will get to choose from their new Full-Body Rhino OR Astro Rocket (shown above). Each comes in three sizes in either brown or white cardboard (though they’re entirely paintable if you’d prefer, say, a pink rhino). They’re shipped flat and assembly is easy (kinda like a fun puzzle).
In fact, you can check out the video below of us putting together the – prepared to be shocked – small white rhino that we snagged for our very own home. The whole thing took us about 15 minutes, not including a bathroom break for a certain four-legged family member.

These are so cute. If we are dreaming big, I want to travel the whole world with unlimited funds available for whatever small adventure presents itself along the way. Asia, Europe, South America, Central America, Middle East. I want to see it all!

My dream adventure is diving into the deep sea to see all the amazing creatures down there like mola mola, giant squid, vampire squid, angler fish, umbrella mouth gulper, barrel head fish, and much more like deep sea mountain ranges. But figuring I’m kind of clastrophobic and not rich, I’m not sure I’ll be able to go anytime soon but I still dream of it.

Dream vacation…. world tour. I can’t pick just one place. I’d want to just skip all around different countries.

My dream vacation would be to take a trip back to Kruger National Park in South Africa to see the black rhino, they’re very rare and threatened by extinction. Then I would go to Cape Town and take a charter boat to Seal Island to see the great white sharks!

My dream vacation is becoming a mercenary in Portugal. I would need a translator, but after I learn the language, I would probably pink slip him. Pink slipping is is tricky in the mercenary business. Then, because I’m a pacifist, I’d probably quit due to lack of business and take up sea kayaking.

And the helicopter would be tricked out. with a kitchen, lounge, bathroom (crossing the atlantic would probably take awhile, the pacficic too, and i guess the Indian), and dance floor.

a safari would be amazing! also hiking glaciers, swimming with dolphins, rafting on the colorado, exploring the Galapagos! all those adventure get-aways are so much harder to plan! (though i love alice’s idea of the pimped out helicopter!
