We had the standard wood slats on our Malm, which we sold with our house (the bed conveyed) but for Ed we did the one-step-up ones (they were a bit more and slightly curved). Hope it helps!

What slats did you go with for your Malm? Did you keep them & use them on Ed? We are looking at a bed with IKEA and didn't realise how many options they have for something so simple as the slatted thing. We have been saving for the Savvy Rest too, but now the options have increased with the talalay material and dunlop materials. By the time we save up for a king, I should have all our decisions made (I hope).

Hi! I just stumbled across your blog and i love it! Can't wait to read more and learn how you do it on a budget :) funny that I saw your mattress post and we have the exact same mattress. After tons of research I found it and was so scared to buy something so expensive online. We have had it 3 years and I LOVE it. Ended up getting the pillows and sheets from the same company too.

We too recently purchased a latex mattress though a different brand, and it is BLISSFUL! I'll be honest that I didn't purchase it for earth-friendly reasons but I do see them as a bonus. The heat factor is different than a memory foam mattress. As it was explained to us by our mattress company, latex actually draws approximately 2 degrees of heat from the body which is disbursed amongst the latex layers allowing you to sleep more comfortably.

It's a lucky number seven anniversary for us and I have to say, this bed is way better than copper.

Love the blog!

We have heard that mattresses like Tempurpedic and other foam varieties can feel hotter than traditional mattresses, but we haven't noticed that with ours. Maybe it's just the way it's made (our foam has tons of little holes in it that might help it breathe better)?

xo,

Hey just wondering if the bed is even and if you found it to be "warmer"
than your other mattress? We bought a natural latex bed from Natura and
found that the latex was poured evenly (had a slope) and we
also awoke a lot during the night because we were hot and sweaty.
We returned and wonder if our experience was because of the latex or
if the bed was defective?
I am very sensitive to beds and heat-how bout you?
thanks

Bet I'm not the only one who'd like an almost-two-year update on your mattress! I've been researching like mad but still can't decide. I guess I need convincing that latex is the best option. I was thinking Tempur-pedic till I read they sleep hot, which we definitely don't need in Houston!

Love it! No issues at all, it's just as comfy as it was when we got it last year. We can't recommend it more!

Hi Youngsters! I'm a faithful reader of your blog--love it! My husband and I are in the market for a new mattress, and we're seriously considering the SavvyRest Serenity. If my math is correct, you've had yours for a year now. I'm curious as to how you're liking it now that it's a year old. Any issues? Sagging? Quality or service concerns? Any information or guidance you can give us would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
