Our Big Announcement: NOT
Ok, so speculation about our major upcoming announcement has gotten quite interesting (and maybe accurate… then again maybe not). Just read the comments on this post and this post to see the rumors swirl. We know we’re being big teases, so we figured we’d offer up a way to help tide some of you over through the weekend. Starting right now, we’ll begin narrowing down the list of possible announcements by revealing what’s NOT happening (process-of-elimination-style) on our Twitter feed and Facebook fan page over the weekend so you’ll hopefully get a clearer picture as we tick things off left and right.
We won’t be posting any other clues here on the blog (and heck, with all that tweeting and status updating going on we probably won’t be posting anything again ’til Monday’s big announcement anyways).
So here’s your first eliminated possibility, courtesy of jbhat’s guess which stipulated that perhaps Burger is expecting. Our reply: Burger is NOT expecting puppies. He is in fact, a neutered male chihuahua who doesn’t even do the leg hump thing (sorry ladies). Please see Exhibit A below for additional “evidence”:
But we know it was a sarcastic guess, so this answer might not count as any real revelation so we’ll move on to divulge a bit more: Burger’s NOT getting a canine brother or sister either. That’s a definite possibility someday (if Burger would stop being so darn anti-social) but for now we’ll leave you with that NOT clue.

I have another guess. I saw a message sent to you on facebook by UnionHill Richmond about hooking you up with pre-1890s house in need of some Young House love. I’m going to say your big announcement has something to do with that.

And although I think it’d be super cool if you’d be preggers (since it’s talked about so darn much…), I’m going to guess that it has to do with updating your home is some large way or getting invited to meet someone cool or going somewhere super fun in the near future.
You guys crack me up! That picture is too cute. Our boys do that all the time. I guess they like the breeze.
This is killing me. Oh nuts we are going on vacation next week. ahhhh now I’ll have to wait until we get back to see the big announcement. Nuts!
Now I’m all curious! I think all the wondering will keep me up this weekend…preggers seems very obvious, but I wouldn’t be surprised…G&D is and I have a TON of friends that just announced they are.
It’s gotta be a bun in the oven.

I’m with Amanda. Considering the specificity of Burger not getting a canine brother or sister, I’m also going with pregnancy. Of course, that’s the first thing that comes to mind for me when I think of a big announcement, since all my friends are either pregnant, have new babies, or are trying to get pregnant right now.
LOL…the picture of Burger is hilarious. That’s enough to hold me over the weekend. I’ll check back on Monday.
You’re moving! Everyone says they will stay in the same house forever, UNTIL…the excitement of a great real estate opportunity for a great price falls into your lap! I know – I’ve been there. I feel like if you were pregnant, you would lead up to it like this, you would just drop the bomb all in one swoop:-)

I’m going to go with the guess that you are indeed expecting another youngster. My guess is based on the fact that you re- did the bathroom. I know that if you suffer morning sickness you want a pretty bathroom to throw up in….LOL.
Whatever it is I can’t wait to hear it!
Also…the fact that you spent all week talking about your wedding gives a clue.

Ok, I’ll toss out one clue regarding Rebekah’s comment above. We are NOT going anywhere this weekend. In fact we’ll be laying low at home on both Saturday and Sunday.

I still say it’s not a baby announcement, but I could be wrong…
Laying low, as in, you’re obviously not moving or tackling any large decoration projects this weekend. But perhaps you are laying low in order to do those things in the coming week? Or, you’re so worn out from doing those things already, you must recoup your strength by laying low.
I HATE surprises. They drive me nuts-o. If my hubby ever tries to surprise me, and happens to drop a hint, I go crazy until I find out. Hehe. :)
From my own personal experience, no matter WHAT the big reveal is, I’m betting you’ll get hundreds upon hundreds of “I knew it!” responses. I’m pretty convinced that if the correct thing even fleetingly crossed through people’s minds at one point, they consider that they “knew it”. I’m kidding, mostly.
That said, if the surprise did happen to be a pregnancy, I will consider myself VERY blessed to be privy to all your fabulous nursery decorating at a wonderfully appropriate time in my life!

Okay, I have been reading this blog on and off for a while now and never comment, but I _have_ to! I think it is a baby annnouncement. I am convinced for a few different reasons:
1) The CANINE bro and sis comment above.
2) The no new orders until July 13th thing– are you thinking “by then I will be out of my first trimester and ready to regain some energy and do something…”?
3) It will be fun to see your nursery, so I am completely distracted by imagining it. :D
A close second, might be a book/tv deal of some sort.
Either way, it you are happy and excited, so are we.

I think… since you are “laying low” this weekend, the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT is that you’re preggers. I agree with Rachaels comment, your waiting for a doctors confirmation. :) Yup, definitely…I hope so. :)
Also, if you can, please don’t wait until Monday to tell us…that’s way too long.
It’s amazing that everyone thinks the big announcement is something good. What if it’s something bad? Hmm. Something to think about. Of course this could just be an attempt to make you guys spin your wheels. Either way we love that we’re dealing with an optimistic crowd!

I am not going to speculate on anything here. However, I imagine that John and Sherry are having a riotously good time (and will continue to do so all weekend!) reading all the guesses.
Okay, okay…one guess. If you’re laying low maybe you’re having something large (like the floors) re-done in your house. Or, since we haven’t seen any interior shots recently, maybe you’ve been working on something big in the existing space. Either way, me and the CrackBerry are going to be good friends all weekend checking facebook and twitter every 20 minutes!
