Fab Freebie: The Grass Is Always Greener
***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***
We first encountered this week’s giveaway sponsor a few weeks back when browsing Richmond’s Shops at 5807, which is collection of different local boutiques under one roof. MonkeyGrass caught our eye immediately thanks to their fun, colorful and stylish decor, candles, kids’ stuff, etc. And that was before we even realized that all of their merch was green! Even better, eh?
So we’re psyched that MonkeyGrass is generously offering up some of their personality-filled party goods to one fortunate reader. Just check out the eco-friendly party pack they’ve put together for us:

What you’re seeing there in the foreground are a foursome of Pop Tumblers, made from recycled soda bottles. I (as a self-proclaimed soda junkie) have been eyeing these for a while so I’m majorly envious of this week’s winner. But what is that they’re sitting on you ask? Well…

…it’s a Puzzle Piece Serving Board that’s made from sustainable wood. It can be kept together to serve a couple of friends who’ve stopped by for dinner, or be split apart to dish out for a variety of offerings on every surface you have available.
But wait there’s more. You may have spotted that festive fabric banner off in the distance of the first photo…

It’s actually a colorful Cotton Flag Banner which is truly a genius invention since it’s a reusable replacement for streamers, poster board & balloon decorations that are a lot more wasteful than a reusable one-size-fits-all party-in-a-pinnie. It’s perfect for birthday parties, bridal showers, Mother’s Day, a bachelor party… well, scratch that last one. Even so, we’re sure our winner will find plenty of uses to break out this festive string o’ flags and spare the local landfill a garbage bag full of disposable one-time-use stuff. We loved it so much that when MonkeyGrass generously offered up an extra banner for us that we couldn’t resist! Anyway here’s how to enter to snag the whole party pack:
- PRIZE: One green party pack from MonkeyGrass including Pop Tumblers, a Puzzle Serving Board and a Cotton Flag Banner (total value of $114)
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PARTY ON” and…

Party On!!!
PARTY ON DUDE!
PARTY ON, DUDE!
I just try to plan a night that I would have fun going to – and so even if no one else has fun, I do! heh heh heh…. but really – most of those parties are my most successful – I’m not stressed, it’s not too formal, and everyone has a good time.
PARTY ON!
P.S. I think the deadline is July 29th not June 29th.
PARTY ON!
I’m a big fan of making themed playlists for my ipod–so convenient and one less thing to worry with once the party starts.
PARTY ON!!!
I find every party is better with cupcakes.
Party On!
I am a fanatic about board games. No party is ever dull if you whip out one of my favs: Cranium, Cranium POP 5, Scattergories or my latest obsession…Loaded Questions.
“PARTY ON”
PARTY ON
I always like a party with a very simple theme that’s easy to throw together, but ties things throughout the party.
PARTY ON
…and nothing makes a party like a chocolate fountain. Ask each guest to bring something to dip in chocolate. You’d be surprised to see what people bring!
PARTY ON!!!
PARTY ON!
My favorite party planning trick is having music fit the party atmosphere; upbeat for a rockin good time or something more mellow like Bob Marley to jut chill out and enjoy great friends and food.
PARTY ON
PARTY ON!
PARTY ON!! We host an annual homecoming party each year. This motivates me to complete projects that have been hanging out there for awhile…
My tip…allow yourself enough time before guests arrive to sit down, relax and have a glass of wine:)
PARTY ON!
Check the toilet paper to make sure it isn’t about to run out!
PARTY ON!
Apples to Apples is my favorite party game – it takes almost no training, and it works for 4 to 15 people!
Party On!!
…because I looove throwing, er, planning parties. Lighting makes all the difference in a party. Strings of cafe lights, lanterns, candles, bonfires, chandeliers hanging from trees (I saw that on a blog once) instantly make the mood festive!
PARTY ON!
I love a good mad hatter party. Backyard parties are great when it’s not summertime in Vegas!
And nothing like a game of curses to loosen up a big group.
PARTY ON!
My favorite party planning tip is just making a whole slew of yummy food.
PARTY ON!
Having a theme and a special drink :)
PARTY ON!!!
Nothing like a fire pit to bring people together.
PARTY ON!
When hostessing, I make sure to have plenty to eat! When serving cocktails, it’s important for your guests to have plenty in their tummies before they drive away. I stock up on crackers and cheeses, olives and nuts to be sure that even a spur of the moment guest can have a snack. It’s my responsibility when I am serving to be sure everyone can enjoy themselves safely!
PARTY ON!
…for me throwing a great party is all about having a good mix of friends in a fun casual atmosphere. :)
“PARTY ON” and…Never, I mean never, run out of drinks.
“Party On!”
One of my favorite things to do at a party is to play horse shoe, such a simple game, but it always gets the crowd going.
PARTY ON!!
Party On! I am not so good at throwing parties…need some help there!
PARTY ON!
I think I might be the #1 fan of reusable banners. Those are too cute!
Party On! Theme, always a theme. Something, anything to help tie food, decorations and drinks together. I’m fond pf colours. Red Hot Birthday bash, anyone?
Party on!
Theme parties are always fun – we’ve thrown a mustache bash and provided stick on mustaches for those who come trying to be party poopers.
Party On!
If people are at our house, I always show off our dog’s “Who Let the Dogs Out” trick. If you start singing the song, she’ll bark at all the right parts!
Party On!
I love having a pot luck bar. Everyone brings a favorite liquor and mixer and then they all go on a bar together. That way, by the end of the night, the bottles can be finished off by making crazy concoctions and I dare you to drink it drinks!
Party On! We have so many allergies in my family and food preferences among my friends that I like to go out of my way to make sure the menu is planned so that there are lots of different things that people can eat. It takes time and effort, but I know my guests appreciate it!
PARTY ON! My favorite party planning tip is to use invitations- I think it helps guests remember to plan their day around attending my fabulous party AND helps to set the mood- fun, formal, kid-friendly, adults-only, etc.
PARTY ON! My hostess tip is to serve food in fun ways. Antipasta on a stick is a fun one…a mini ball of mozzerella cheese, a cherry tomato, an olive and a slice of pepperoni (repeat if necessary) on a stick is a fun way to serve a yummy appetizer. That way people can hold a drink and the appetizer without having to juggle.
PARTY ON. I’m not a party thrower, however, I might attempt it if I had some amazing stuff like this!
PaRtY oN! Cute cute cute!

Party on!
I always (well, used to back in the day) liked to have a signature cocktail for the night…I’d pick something new that I’d never heard of from a cocktail book and serve it to everyone!
Party On!!!
I’m drooling over the flag banner…..
PARTY ON!!!
PARTY ON!
Always have tons of food… that keeps everyine happy!
“PaRtY oN”….. I love playing cornhole, beer pong and flip cup! All can’t go wrong with any of those games. =)
PARTY ON!
Party on!
I love to buy cheeseball mixes – there’s a brand that actually recommends recipes for other appetizers and desserts using their mixes which makes for lots of options!
PARTY ON!
My mom always says if you have enough food and people feel welcome then you’ve done your job as a host/hostess.
Party On!!
A party MUST have: cupcakes!!
Party On!
Party On!
My favorite parties are what we call puu-puu parties (Hawaiian for appetizers). Everyone brings a puu puu, we have wine, and it is an instant party. Who needs a sit down dinner?
PARTY ON!! :)
