I really try to live by “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” It’s cliche for a reason in my opinion–it’s a great outlook to have!

I remember that when I was going through those awkward and very difficult teenage years, my Mom said something to me one time that helped put a lot of things into perspective.
She said, “When the whole world seems upside down, maybe it isn’t the world that is upside down.” It made me stop and realize that sometimes you have to look deep in yourself to fix the things that don’t seem right in your life, instead of trying to change the world.

The magnet attached to my bathroom mirror reads “Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.” I read this every morning first thing when I get up and every night last thing before I lay down. It’s gotten me through some tough patches.
