I am going to be one of the few to stand up for TP in a bowl. We have a bathroom that is just too cramped for a toilet paper stand/holder. When we bought our house, there was one attached to the wall, but it got in the way when you tried to sit on the toilet! So I took it off and keep the TP in a cute basket on top of the toilet. Although it is in a private home and a not a furniture store...

Meh on the test tubes. Cute idea, but I'm not going to waste my time dumping my spices into test tubes.

I've got a similar test tube spice rack and I really like it for the most part. It's a HUGE space saver, which is main reason I bought it. We cook with spices often and just not enough room in cabinets for all that we use, so this sits on the counter, takes up very little room and is always a great conversation piece. The one I bought online came with 'slim" measuring spoons, so everything but a Tablespoon fits fine. Only downside so far is you can't stand a tube up on the counter while using it.

One of the perks of being married to a chemist is unlimited access to test-tubes! I've made bud-vases, hanging vases, and program holders (at a wedding) with test-tubes! They are cute, cheap, and functional! Off to make a spice rack...

I like the idea of doing a DIY of the Dean & Deluca spice holders just cause to buy it would cost lots of $$$$ since Dean & Deluca costs an arm and a leg for things. Very cute and worth the effort!

I did the test tube thing a few years ago with tubes I bought from a science supply store. They looked great but it was SO hard to get a measuring spoon in the tube or to tap out enough to fill a spoon. Drove me nuts. If the D+D ones are a little bit bigger it might work though. Now I use wedding favor tins that I bought on ebay. They look great, you can put a magnet on the back and keep them on the fridge, and you can dip a whole spoon in there or just pinch with your fingers. Love that!

I have been in love with that spice display for some time!! It's just too darned expensive! If I could find a nice looking rack to keep them in I would DEFINTELY diy that in a heartbeat. Now granted it would be impractical but it's just too omigosh cute! I'd probably set it on display and never use it... I just want it to grace my kitchen :)

Hi! We actually have a test tube spice rack that we use. I actually picked it up at Target in the Christmas section after Christmas. I really like them because they are slim and fit great in my Ikea kitchen pantry pull out with out taking up a ton of space. Plus they have just the right amount of the spices I use, but not often. I think I have only refilled one or two of them and I think I bought the smaller spice sizes to fill it. They surprisingly hold quite a bit. I still buy bigger bottles of the ones I go through more often, (like oregano and basil), but I don't bother filling the tubes with it.

The main difference from what I can see and the Target one is that the Target ones are plastic and have screw tops.

The only downfall of them is that the bottoms are round so they don't sit on the counter when you are using them. It doesn't have a shaker top either, but I like to measure so it works for me.

I don't know if I would recommend it for someone who cooks with spices a lot. It is nice to have a variety of the common spices that are used once in a while.

Plus with the clearance price on them, it was definitely cheaper then buying each spice individually.
