Our original mattress has done terribly on it (I don't think it was a great mattress to begin with, but sans boxspring, it's absolutely horrid). I'm really loving the idea of getting a "green" mattress, though! It's definitely not on the soft side, so if you need a really soft mattress you might want to swap one or two of the mediums for a soft. -John
