Hi,
I just got back from my local Urban Outfitters with my new Tear Drop Chandelier. It was their last one and I snagged it for $4.99!!! I’m pretty excited about it. Our toilet & shower are in a seperate room from the vanity divided by a pocket door. I want to hang it over the toilet from the exhaust fan. It should look very pretty.
Thanks again for clarifing the price. If I thought it was $1000 I never would have gotten it.

Hi, I just called UO again to have them clarify the price. You are right…it is only $9.99. When they originally told me it was nine ninety nine I guess I assumed wrong. (Ya think?)
They also gave me the same info on the light kit. Thanks for clearing this up for me. Now we know what happens when you assume. haha

Hey Mary,

Hmm, I’m very confused by the info you got. Our teardrop chandy was somewhere in the neighborhood of $15. Maybe it went down to $9.99 on sale and they misread it as $999? Strange! As for the it’s-not-really-a-light-fixture comment, that’s partially true. The teardrop chandelier is made to hang from the ceiling and accommodate a basic light kit (a bulb on a cord that either can be plugged in and swagged to the ceiling or hardwired into a ceiling fixture box) but that is sold separately. Since we have sconces in the bathroom (and no ceiling fixture box) we opted to hang ours from the ceiling in a purely decorative way without the light kit. It’s a nice glittering accent in an otherwise pretty small and plain room. But Roeshel clearly added the light kit to hers and it looks as if it’s hardwired for a sleek look so that’s definitely possible with the chandelier. Maybe you can try ebay if they can’t seem to track one down at Urban (we’ve heard it’s no longer on sale there). Hope it helps!

Hi, I have a question regarding the Tear Drop Chandelier. You mentioned you have the same one. My local Urban Outfitters told me it is purely decorative and not a light fixture. It doesn’t have a lightbulb in it. And it’s $999!!! Is it possible they were providing me with the facts of a different Tear Drop?
Did you get yours a long time ago? Maybe they don’t carry the type you have any longer. Please respond because I’m in the middle of a master bath reno & would love to have a light like yours. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…right?

If anyone is interested in purchasing the Bird hooks directly from the manufacturer, they’re actually made by Beehive Kitchenware which has a whole lot of other cute products too! My favorites are the baby spoons and measuring spoons. Great bathroom makeover!
