I’m not even going to dance around this one: we’ve got a $200 Home Depot gift card up for grabs.
This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you'd most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

Gotta Get THIS GUY!!! A Demolition Hammer!! Since we bought our house last year, we get the new tax rebate and with that we plan on putting a front porch on the house. With this guy we could get rid of those concrete steps and build my dream teak wood front porch!!

GOTTA GET A TILE CUTTER!!! Our very small master bathroom has carpet, yes you read that right, CARPET on the floor of a bathroom. It’s disgusting! We desperately need to pull the carpet up and install beautiful new ceramic tile floors before A. the smell of mildew gets worse and B. what should be white carpet has turned a beautiful shade of dirty brown.
Gotta get a cordless power drill! I really need to hang some new shelves!
Gotta Get a 2 Man Hole Digger! My horrid fence has seen its last windy winter and I am tired of looking at its ugliness. So out it goes! We need to replace it with a larger fence that is moved out about 15 feet, making our backyard bigger for the kid and the pug!
GOTTA GET A PRESSURE WASHER to clean up my deck, porch, carport and driveway!! Pollen makes my property look bad and I gotta get it done before I plant my spring flowers & put out pine needles!!!
Gotta Get A Drum Sander to refinish our wood floors. We took on this project once (on the second floor of our house) and we’re ready to do it again!
Gotta get a pressure washer. Our back deck is filthy. But a drum sander to redo the worn wood floors is mighty attractive too.
GOTTA GET A Mk Diamond Tile Saw. We rented one when we re-did the counter tops of our kitchen and I am getting in the mood to do some floor and wall tile demo and then to re-tile it (along with putting a new doorway) into our bathroom. It was so much fun to slice through ceramic tile with a diamond blade sprayed with water that I think I want to just cut tile as much as I want to renovate our main bathroom in our condo. MORE…MORE POWER!!!!
GOTTA GET A steam cleaner for the carpet. A shedding cat and a black pug that likes mud have trashed our beige carpet!
GOTTA GET THE AIRLESS PAINT SPRAYER!!!! OUR WHITE PICKET FENCE IS GREENISH GREY!! HA!

We need so many things! A tile saw so we can finally do our kitchen backsplash. Also a spray painter because we need to paint the entire interior of our house (including vaulted ceilings) and exterior in the spring. It’s a beautiful tan and white house, but needs some sprucing up and a good wash!
