Fab Freebie: Ankasa For Your Casa
You guys may know of Ankasa’s collection of couture home furnishings which includes hand-embroidered pillows going for more than $300 a pop. But you may not know that one of our favorite online retailers, Ballard Designs, has debuted an exclusive line of Ankasa pillows for less than a third of the price. And thanks to the lovely folks at Ballard, one lucky reader is going to win one of these couture pillows on the house!

Each of these three high-end pillows is hand cut and features rich, hand embroidered details that are sure to dress up any seat in your house. You’ve got two 18″ square and a 12″ x 20″ floral throw pillow to choose from. Although with such hard work put into their intricate designs I feel like we should call them “carefully place” pillows, not “throw pillows.”

To enter, just comment on this post with the words “HAND ‘EM OVER” by Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, we’d also love to know the most intricate, delicate or complicated thing you’ve ever made with your own two hands. A masterful painting? A mutli-course meal? An extra tall Jenga tower? Oh and in case you don’t know the giveaway drill by now: please limit one entry per e-mail address (our winners are blindly selected using random.org). This prize is available to US residents only. Good luck…

I wish I could sew. The only thing I’ve ever made with my sewing machine are throw pillows and wedding programs!
HAND ‘EM OVER!
I work in a research lab, so I guess the intricacies of doing molecular biology count? :)

I love these and I love Ballard Designs, what a great, affordable resource!
I’m not the craftiest person, but I have recovered quite a few seat cushions armed with only nice fabric and my trusty staple gun!
HAND ‘EM OVER!

HAND ‘EM OVER!
Those pillows are lovely and would look great in my master bedroom. I would have to say the most delicate thing I have ever made is a scrap book for my husband with pictures of our history together!

HAND ‘EM OVER!!!
A few years ago I created diy halloween costumes for myself and my boyfriend. We were Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. It was a few nights of intense cutting, sewing and gluing, but the final product was something to be proud of!
HAND ‘EM OVER!
I once made a wishing well out of Popsicle sticks. I’ve also hand made roses for a 3 tier cake.
HAND ‘EM OVER, pretty please :)
HAND ‘EM OVER!!
I’d say the most intricate thing I have made is a Ford Mustang shadowbox for my husband. It took a lot of work and creativity to get it to turn out how I wanted!

Knitted cashmere teddy bears for those first friends that were pregnant.

I once converted an iron coffee table into a bench (much like the bench in your previous post).
HAND ‘EM OVER! These pillows are absolutely beautiful!
The most intricate thing I’ve ever crafted would be a lining for a store bought dress (it was just a wee bit too sheer to be decent!).
HAND ‘EM OVER.
In college, I took some costuming classes and made hand looped wigs and so so many hats even an adorable one for children with leukemia.
HAND ‘EM OVER…pleeease! Hmm…I’ve made my own shower curtain, curtains and some pillows and throw blankets – nothing too “intricate” though. :)Thanks!!
HAND ‘EM OVER
Sadly, the most intricate thing I’ve made is probably a friendship bracelet.
Hand ‘Em Over! The most intricate thing I’ve made was a mosaic tabletop! It took FOREVER! :)

i’ve made several recipes that have been pretty tough :)
HAND ‘EM OVER!
The most difficult thing I ever made was probably a scrapbook…it’s hard being creative!
HAND ‘EM OVER!
I just started a beginners sewing class and have been constructing a plain long T-shirt for the past 1.5 months. I’m almost done, and it has got to be the most complicated thing I’ve had to complete. Now I appreciate all those fab designers on Project Runway even more — how do they do it so quickly?!
Hand ‘Em Over – I made a shadowbox of memorabilia from our wedding that I just love!
HAND ‘EM OVER
!
i make lots of scrapbooks :)
HAND ‘EM OVER
thanks for a shot, guys.
My pick would totally be our kitchen. It’s 36 square feet.
Hand ‘em over! The most intricate thing I’ve ever “made” was a button-tufted slipper chair that I reupholstered in blue silk. Silk is horrible for upholstery, I found out (and feel compelled to tell anyone who’ll listen). However, the chair turned out really pretty, and it would look even prettier with one of these pillows perched on it!
HAND ‘EM OVER!

HAND ‘EM OVER! I painted a dish in Mexico for my mom that I was probably too proud of. :)
HAND ‘EM OVER I do all kinds of crafty things like quilting and scrapbooking, but the most intricate thing I do with my hands is suturing up animals. (I’m a vet)

HAND ‘EM OVER
This is a hard question because I’m pretty crafty. :) I think the most intricate thing I have ever made in a knit blanket. It took me about a year to knit 50-60 squares and then I blocked and sewed them together. It was well worth it though!
Hand ‘em over
the first scarf I ever knitted was a labor of love and not the prettiest result, I have to admit.
I decided to stick with something easier this past Holiday season – jewelry. I made strands of freshwater pearl bracelets. So easy, but looked so expensive!
