What’s Your Creative Type?
We spotted another fun little quiz on How About Orange this week. This one uses a few visual questions to determine what type of creative person you are. Feel like taking it for a spin?
Well we did, and we thought the results, while primarily entertaining, were relatively accurate for both of us. I’m definitely the more right brained half of the marriage, and the quiz appropriately deemed me a “Realist.” I do like to express myself with an “ordered and structured approach,” and technology does “help me create work that really has an impact” and (although a little too poetic for my tastes), I’d agree that I like my world “drenched in beauty.”
Sherry, on the other hand, was dubbed a “Bright Spark” creative thinker. The description basically confirmed what I already know about her – after all, her degree is in an artistic field and we met when she worked in a creative department. In particular, I thought “you grab any opportunity to record bright ideas as they strike” (there’s a reason she’s got a pen and pad next to the bed) and “you have plenty of new projects up your sleeve” were especially accurate. Just last night she was talking about five different projects around the house that she’d love to tackle this spring. In fact, I think I owe her “bright spark” for most of the work we’ve gotten done around our house for the past two and a half years.

I was HANDS ON. I’d have to say that’s pretty accurate. I love to start a project and walk it all the way through to the end. I hate having to ask for help. Yup, right on!

i’m “eyes wide open too” and i’d say it was pretty dead-on. i love this kind of self discovery.
I am HANDS ON, which is true. I love making things. But the part about seeing a project from start to finish … that part, I struggle with sometimes. :)
“Hands on” that’s me for sure. . . although I love seeing projects finished, I also have a hard time getting them all the way done!

And it was pretty accurate except for maybe the start to finish thing – I do, generally, finish projects, they just take me a while. I usually have several projects going on at one time :o)
Did I just read this wrong, because I was a “youniverse”. I haven’t seen anyone else have it. Oh, well it meant I was very inspired and creative, so I’ll take it!
Oh, wait, I get it. It’s just broke for me and says the title where I should have something. Now, that’s a bummer.
I’m Eyes Wide Open, too, and I think it describes me accurately (for the most part).
Like alot of the other commenters, I was Eyes Wide Open as well. I would say it describes me pretty darn well.
Hands On creator here, and the description was dead on. I just don’t feel like I’ve created something unless I’m covered in paint/charcoal/clay/ink/etc.
Realist. No surprise there so I took the Careers test. Three out of the four suggestions were jobs I done. Scarily accurate!
Another ‘Eyes Wide Open’ girl here! “You take inspiration and ideas from the world around you. Your eyes are always open for new sources of stimulation.” That pretty much describes me. I think there are so many of us here because we are looking for that inspiration!
I’m a Happy Dabbler – thanks for posting this one – it was good stress relief for me :). My creativity definitely lies in everyday objects and I don’t have time for much – must be why I like cooking so much!

Wow, seems like these results are pretty accurate for everyone. Maybe the quiz truly is a good measure of your creative personality… or maybe its like those horoscopes that a written in a way where it’s easy to see yourself described in them.

“Hands On”… with a master’s degree in printmaking and my love for mixed media art, this is absolutely spot on. I always have at least 3 projects going on at once. And just like most people in this category, I tend to have a bit of trouble finishing everything I start.
I’m an “Eyes Wide Open” kinda gal. Not a scientific study, I know, but I’d say it’s extremely accurate.
