wow. young, smart, practical, clever, unique, un-stuck-up.
AWESOME. You can teach a lot to a person senior to you, like me! Our old house still has original kitchen and bathroom, so deeply in need of makeovers, it ain't funny. Dreaming, thinking, working!

anyhow, as per your giveaway tea towels:
I love crisp tea towels and have used them for kitchen window cover/curtains and sewn together as a tablecloth
or a table runner.
OH, and even as a lil cubby hole cover with a mini
expandable curtain rod that I use to hold a top hem of
a tea towel so that it curtains over a cubby hole I wish to cover like a cloth cabinet door.

As for tea, we are making SUN tea a lot now.
Put 6 tea bags in a container of 7-8 cups of water, glass preferred. Put it out in the direct sunlight.
Cover the water pitcher top with a fabric swatch or a paper towel so no bugs get in. Let it brew in sunlight for
a few hours and note that vitamin D from the sun will go in there, too. Later, take inside and have it your own way. We like to add honey or sweet and low and some ice cubes and some skim milk....result? a low fat iced tea latte!

please submit me for your English tea towel giveaway and thanks so much. Best wishes on everything smart and practical you do and of course on the baby!

Hey Roy,

Gentle Tide is by Glidden, which is sold at Home Depot. It actually has since been discontinued but you can ask them to look up the formula on the computer in the paint area. As for our red front door, it's Valspar's Fabulous Red from Lowe's. Hope it helps!

Where did you find your curtains? I'm looking for inexpensive curtains and I love the white. I'm finding it hard to find curtains that are not beige, brown, yellow, or red. Thanks!

We actually got ours for a major deal at the sadly departed Linens N Things but we have seen similar Hunter versions in stainless steel at Target and Bed Bath and Beyond. Hope it helps!

Hey youngsters! I've been following the blog for a while (I'm also in Richmond!) and just saw this today. I love the stainless steel fan you have in the bedroom. My husband and I aren't big ceiling fan people and I've been on the lookout for a classy fan like that one. Where'd you score it? I remember one like it from many, many years ago at Pottery Barn but can't seem to find one now that I need it. Thanks y'all!
