What a fantastic idea. I cannot believe I have never thought of this. There are so many different calender designs that it would be easy to decorate any room in your house. Great post! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work, everything looks awesome!

You all are genius! I have been saving my Anne Taintor calendars for a few years and wasn't sure what to do with them. I was certain I had to keep them since they were the perfect 12x12 and fit into my scrapbooking notebook (note: I never scrapbook, just keep buying supplies for my non hobby). Low and behold, I had an empty Ikea frame that fit the bill! I added some sassy art to my guest room.

I have the Snow Graham calendar, the 2009 is on the wall, and I plan on salvaging as much of the 2008 I can. I hadn't thought of checking out the bookstores for last year calendars...another great idea!

Very good idea. I bet you can rack up in late January and February. I wonder what B&N and BAM do with old calendars. I may need to strike up a deal where I buy them for cheap, frame them, and sell them as high end art to the not-so-thrifty home enthusiasts. I posted about a similar idea on our blog today.

I am so glad I am not the only one who saves old calendars! Every year I buy a beautiful glossy one with images from my favorite artists (Picasso, Chagall, Edward Gorey, this year is Joan Miro) with the intention of framing my favorites. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet but I am so encouraged that I am not alone in my "wierd habit," as DH calls it.

Thanks so much for the inspiration. I'm totally going to use my 2008 calendar as art now- sure beats throwing it away. Score!

I picked up a calendar of black and white landscapes in the $1 section at Target to use in my bedroom makeover. I actually did not end up using it in there, but I may still use it somewhere else. I may go check out B&N for some more ideas.
