Awesome. I love the pattern and have had the same issue with not finding an affordable rug with a pattern I like.

hello everyone....thanks for the nice comments!

it may seem like it would be crunchy under your foot, but actually it really feels no different than a rug i recently purchased from urban outfitters...maybe slightly rough, but certainly wayyyyyy less rough than a jute rug, and we all walk around on those every now and then!

i did this project at least a month or so ago (dont remember the exact date...) and it's held up pretty well. there has been slight fading, but overall, i am happy with the result. since the paint was for indoor/outdoor use, it holds pretty effectively. i am sure that you could use some special (fabric) paint to make a longer-lasting look, but i already had this sitting around the house, and for a quick-fix, it was perfect!

Love the look but like some others, the idea of spray paint on a rug doesn't scream comfy. It might be worth researching other methods, though.

I think I've seen this done before somewhere - maybe Trading Spaces or something from way back. It looks awesome! Great redesign! I wonder how well it holds up.

I think this a great idea for a rug that goes under something - i'm thinking like the dining room table? You can save a ton of money - the plain ones are always cheaper than the patterned ones! and don't knock spray paint until you try it. there are some many different kinds out there now...

I find it interesting but PAINT?!? What about fabric paint or dye. So, what now? If I have a tear in my curtains, I use a nail gun to sew it shut?
