Wedding Crashing: A Black & White Soiree
We’re back after crashing yet another fun and fabulous wedding. This time we found ourselves in the Chart House in Weehawken, New Jersey where we enjoyed an October wedding full of classic style and elegance. Meet Jaclyn and Mike:

They actually met through their best friends who were dating at the time (and are now married). Talk about a cute story. And the fairytale doesn’t end there. The entire day was charming to the max, thanks to the amazing views of Manhattan (the Chart House is known for its panoramic views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline). Of course the day had a few snafus- the cake arrived without flowers on it thanks to the florist thinking the bakery was doing it and the bakery thinking the florist would take care of it- so the couple grabbed flowers from their sweetheart table and in the end no one was the wiser. Thankfully, the rest of the day went off without a hitch.
Both the ceremony and the reception were held at the Chart House, and the bridal party looked über classy in their Bridals By Roma dresses. They were actually black satin floor length gowns with a strand of pearls serving as the straps around the neck. Tres chic. The bride got her delicately beaded dress at David’s Bridal and the whole party carried classic calla lilies with a swank black and white woven ribbon detail at the bottom (save for Jaclyn’s all white flower wrap). So fab.

Here’s a bouquet close up for all you flower lovers. You can also see the delicate embroidery of Jaclyn’s dress and her “something new”- a beautiful necklace that her mother got her for her wedding day.

The sweet and simple ceremony was held in the ballroom while they saved the distracting panoramic views for the reception.

The party started with the bride and groom sharing their first dance to Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand’s “I Finally Found Someone”. And after the obligatory feasting and dancing, Jaclyn and Mike not only served their delicious wedding cake (a rich and creamy strawberry shortcake), but they went above and beyond at their fall fete and also served some yummy créme brule. Delish. And yes I ate mine and half of John’s while he was off taking pictures. I’m only human, people.

But the real star of the night were those aforementioned views. I’m sure the couple can’t look at the Empire State Building without thinking of their fabulous wedding day.

So there you have another sweet and sensational wedding. Who knows where we’ll turn up next? Alaska? Texas? Nothing’s off limits for us so stay tuned…

I love that view of the NYC skyline- and the fact that the couple used classic black & white to go with that stunning view! I also really like the woven appearance of the ribbons on the bridesmaid bouquets! As always, thanks so much for sharing:)
wow fantastic view …. I like the last picture
Very pretty. The cake looked fabulous considering they had to improvise at the last minute with the flowers!
Wow! That’s my kind of wedding. What a setting! I loved the little columns with the flowers on them….
wow, it seems it was a dream wedding…the flowers are wonderful…
Another great wedding blog. Hope to see you crashing somewhere in Chicago.
City weddings are so unique, there is something completely different, modern and chic about having a wedding in a city. Then there’s the big apple, what a great backdrop and venue for your wedding, they are very lucky!
