Top Design: She’s Out, So I’m Out
It’s been a long while since we’ve done a Top Design update (I’ve been trying to be respectful of the fact that not everyone is as reality TV obsessed as we are). But, we’re down to the final four so I figured it was worth a mention, especially as we near the conclusion of our little guess-the-top-three-contest.
For those of you who watched this week, you saw my sole remaining hope in the game, Andrea, excuse herself from the competition so she could be back with her family. Thereby dashing both her hopes and mine for coming out on top. In fact, I’m the only person who’s had all three of their picks eliminated. Shows what I know…

Even though Andrea’s chances were slim at this point, I was still disappointed to watch her give up when the judges clearly stated that Ondine had the worst design this week (see the rooms for yourself here). If I had to guess now, I’d say it’s a toss up between Martha-Stewart-in-training Eddie and design renegade Nathan… who happens to have been Sherry’s top pick from the start. Man, she always beats me at these things.
Who do you think will take the title? Or better yet, who deserves the title? And does anyone else miss Wisit and his operatic outbursts like we do?

I usually love Eddie’s designs the best but his smug attitude is just too much. I hope he doesn’t win just based on the way he acts. I think the winner will be Nathan or Preston. I have not be as impressed with Nathan as the judges. Ondine should definitely be the next to go home.
I keep liking preston more an more these days. But, I agree. I think we are being primed for an Eddie/Nathan show down.
I seriously get “sometimes I feel discouraged…” in my head now. Oh Wisit. So Humble.
I think Eddie deserves to win…and he brings a lot of personality to the show…kind of like Kenley on Project Runway…a lot of people hate both of their attitudes, but they keep it interesting.
I love Eddie. I really hope he wins.
But, even if he doesn’t, his blog has become one of my faves. He will win forever in my Google Reader. =)
I don’t think the judges care too much for Eddie. I think it is going to be between Preston and Nathan in the end.
Honestly, Eddie (forgetting about his personality defects) really hasn’t done anything that has particularly blown my skirt up. And if I were Martha and watched that last episode, Eddie would be finding a pick slip when he got back to the office. /shudder
I think Ondine will be going home next episode.
I have liked Preston’s designs, but it just seems like a lot of the same stuff over and over. He likes boutique hotels, we get it.
Nathan, while being hit and miss the last couple weeks, is in a completely different league than the others.
I still stand by Nathan as deserving to win. Sorry all you Eddie lovers, though he’s got some areas of expertise , i agree with the judges that this rooms have a granny vibe-and not in a hip, vintage-y way. Plus he’s two faced, and completely immodest. I also still like Ondine, but i don’t have alot of faith that she’ll get her act together enough to stay in it. I think Preston’s a one trick pony.
In two weeks I’ll do another check-in when it’s time for the final showdown. I think Preston has a chance of sneaking in there if Eddie does something to really piss the judges off in the next couple of weeks.
Gesikah, I am still laughing over the hasn’t “blow my skirt up” comment. That’s a new one…
And it sounds like we’d all be shocked if Ondine were out next episode. I guess only time will tell…

I am liking Preston more each week. Although I typically like Nathan more than Eddie (personality) I lean towards liking Eddie’s design more, even if it is a little grandmommyish. I wasn’t into Nathan or Eddie’s room this week. I wish Kerry would have lasted longer.
