Okay, here’s the thing: it really helps to know your Moon Sign and your Ascendant. If astrology never resonated with you it’s probably because your moon and ascendant are stronger than your sun sign (which is usually the sign everyone knows about themselves, which is determined just by birthdate.) To find out your ascendant, you have to know the exact time and place of your birth. You can plug that into a natal chart on the website cafeastrology.com (for free.) Oh yeah, and the Moon sign is how you react to things emotionally, and the Ascendant sign is how other people see you. I’m going to guess that you have Taurus and/or Aries and or Leo in one of those categories.

I am truly scared right now – I’m a Gemini and…

Lots of space and windows and light window treatment. – Our friends say that in our apartment there are more windows than walls.

Yellow and orange – My bedroom in my parent’s home was bright orange (and yes, I slept well) and here is white and yellow.

Plenty of dinnerware and towels – We have dishes to feed a three course meal to 20+ people. We have two bathrooms and 7 sets of towels (plus some extra spare white ones)

Freaky…

I’m a capricorn, they suggested I should “Push the limit and set up a replica of Stonehenge in your backyard”… I cannot think of anything so vile!

Apparently, “Plain white walls are not for you. Instead, choose faux painting design and give the room an aged, historical look” – they could not have got me more wrong. Every single wall in our house is painted plain white!

I am a leo, and nothing they said was true of my design asthetic. Reds and oranges are my least favorite colors in my home, not most as they insisited. Also no suns or stars as decorations at my house. Totally disappointed!

Mine was pretty right on. It said I like to work with my hands. Well, I’m very crafty! They said my color is red…I have a red sofa and loveseat! Pretty neat-o. :)

Interesting. I am a Taurus, and some things were right:
1. earth tones and colors from nature
2. i love plants and greenery around my house
3. i do appreciate lush, well-appointed things around my home (but who doesn’t)
4. my favorite piece of furniture is a lovely comfy chair, but I think that’s more sentimental (I’ve had it since college) and rebellious (hubby hates it and would love to burn it).

Then again, some things were way off:
1. yes I would love a sun porch, but I can’t grow anything to save my life. My favorite plants are silk or the indestructible kind like pothos.
2. big, bulky, and thick furniture? Generally I’m more of a fan of sleeker, more streamlined pieces (but not too modern). I enjoy Danish and Swedish design.
3. baroque art and brocade fabrics? Ugh. No thanks. Heavy tapestries and overbearing paintings are SO not my style.

Hubby is a Gemini, which again was hit and miss. Hits:
1. he is certainly two-sided. He likes things clean and uncluttered, but has a ton of clutter (collectibles) that he just can’t live without and must display
2. he loves his comfy recliner and bookcase chock full of tomes
3. he does like lots of space, especially evident in that we bought a 2300-sq.ft home when I’m not sure we needed all that room. (Not that I’m complaining.)

But mostly off:
1. he hates yellow and is ambivalent at best towards orange, the two Gemini colors.
2. he’s not huge on mirrors and optical illusions.
3. we don’t have an “active social life” in our home is not the social center of our lives. We tend to live a bit more quietly, largely at the behest of hubby. He prefers his socializing away from home.
4. we do have space for guests, but we don’t often have guests stay over. Again, hubby prefers his socializing away from home usually. He likes to wake up and not be disturbed by overnight guests.
5. his LEAST favorite appliance is the telephone!

I am a Scorpio too, while I do like red & have lots of black furniture it’s not unworldly, its rather cozy & not cavernous or at least I don’t think so. :)

I do have a pond, a pool & a fountain , oh and a jacuzzi too(sorry Sherry)!

I’m a Scorpio too and I’m totally freaked out right now. We have plumbing problems, Our living room is Black, white and Red (ok and beige) and I’m OBSESSED with getting furniture in our basement and making it more cozy than the empty mess it is now!

As an aside- it would be great to see how people decorate their basements, and what they do for water issues if they have any – and low ceilings if they have older homes.

hmmmmm… i am taurus. i have to say there were some things that were spot on with the homestrology reading. i definitely have a taste for quality and have been known to spend outside of a budget in order to obtain it.

1. i always have fresh flowers in a vase in the livingroom. i especially adore tulips.
2. my decor is dark woods, brown, forest green, burgundy, and sapphire blue.
3. lots of framed art, but more renaissance and medieval style frames and mattes than baroque. definitely brocades for upholstery and draperies, and pillows, pillows, pillows.
4. my favourite piece of furniture is the rolls royce of a mattress i bought when i had budgeted for a chevy.
5. i would love a sunroom or a place to grow plants. i also love to cook. moved out of los angeles to a part of the country where i hope to find a place to live where i have the right light to grow indoor plants and a yard to indulge in gardening.
