So, HGTV Just Called…
… and they’re coming to film our house in two weeks.
We’ve gotta keep our lips sealed about what show it’s for, but we’ll gladly accept guesses for the time being. Just don’t hate us when we can’t confirm or deny. And of course we promise details once we’re allowed to spill the beans.
Until then, here’s a chance to get your own piece of the HGTV pie (if you live in Washington DC, that is). Thanks to our friend Holly for spotting this casting call on craigslist for the new Design Star winner’s show.

How exciting! I’m going to guess “My House Is Worth What?” because most of the other shows you have to live in or around Cali or NY. Unless they are making an exception for you guys. ;)

Congrats!! Perhaps you can talk HGTV into giving you your own show…I think that would be pretty awesome. Or maybe they already gave you your own show…hmmm…

Very cool! My Baltimore place was on HGTV (“Small Spaces, Big Style”) before we moved to Portland. Filming it was a really interesting, LONG experience. A lot of fun. Be prepared for people to come out of the woodwork saying they saw you on HGTV; my mother reconnected with long-lost relatives after my segment aired. Cheers!
Hmm, well hopefully you guys aren’t trying to sell, which rules out Designed to Sell, House Hunters, etc. I’m guessing Rate My Space, National Open House or Small Space, Big Style.
Thanks everyone! All good guesses – can’t say which (if any) are better than others, unfortunately. All we know at this point is that filming is Sept 18th. No word on an airdate yet, but you know we’ll be all over announcing that once we know more.
And Lily – how cool about your place on Small Space, Big Style. We’ve probably seen it so we’ll have to keep an eye out for it on reruns. Thanks for the heads up on the long filming day too.

Very cool! I hope you’re able to post about the whole experience. I’m a costume designer, and the thing that intruiges me about HGTV shows is how the wardrobe choices vary so much, both among the hosts and among the homeowners/homebuyers. It appears that sometimes people are given good information on how to dress for TV and sometimes they aren’t.
I’m guessing Rate My Space and someone liked your room for one of the ones they recreate.
