Thanks Sherry for all your wonderful ideas. We can't wait to get started. I will definitely send after pictures as soon as we are finished. To Lori you're right about not being able to find that yellow tile anymore believe me we tried. I'd love to keep them(it would save us tons of money) but like Sherry said a lot of them are damaged and need to be replaced. I think we will take our chances with the brushed nickel sometimes you just have to get what you love.

Ooh-la-la. I LOVE this bathroom. In fact I'm going to order the exact same vanity, mirrors and lights for my sink area which is overdue for an upgrade (it's old and pink). Great job again guys!

Gosh, I always feel it's such a shame when someone wants to remove vintage tile. You can't get that tile anymore and it's a creamy yellow with black trim, it's beautiful and gives the room character, something you can't duplicate with modern replacements. I'd try to bring everything else to match the vintage look of the tile. Not sure what's going on behind your vanity but if it's the same tile I'd put in pedestal sinks with polished nickel or chrome, brushed nickel will be dated very soon. I'd replace the not-original ugly gray floor tile with hexagon black and white tile or something like that. The mirror and lighting you chose is fine and will bring a modern touch to the other vintage elements. I'd go with gray or crisp white for the shower curtain.

Hey guys,

So glad you're liking the latest mood board makeover. We're whipping them up left and right these days, so stay tuned for lots more in the coming week.

As for Lori's comment about saving the vintage tile and brushed nickel being dated, I think the beautiful, fabulous, wonderful thing about design is that there's no wrong or right answer and John and I just do our best to work with the homeowner to give them something they'll love that's completely their style (from vintage cottage to sleek & contemporary and everywhere in between).

In this case Kristin wanted to completely gut her bathroom and we think the fabulous tile that she found will look amazing in the space! It's her only bathroom so she wants it to gleam, and I think her call to replace the tile might be because it's not in the greatest condition up close (our 50 year old bathroom tile is cracked and peeling in more than a few places).
Oh and we have brushed nickel all over our house so we're pretty confident that it should work for the next few decades or so (fingers crossed) and if it should suddenly become uncool in 2040 we'll be the first ones to run out and replace all of our fixtures with Plutonium or whatever metal is all the rage :)
xoxo,
Sherry
